Unless you're "ultimate" bundle is less ultimate/bundle, you're gravy according to the 2nd sentence.

 This product comes with GRAVY!  My whole understanding of physical space has been transformed!  Three dimensional Euclidean geometry has been torn up,  thrown in the air and been snogged to death!  Do the bangers come with mash???

 I really hope I can buy this without paying $160 for other content like the article seems to imply.

I don't think there are centaurs or satyrs on Lorwyn. Main races are kithkin (a telepathically linked race resembling halflings), giants, noggles (a donkeyfolk), mermaids, pixies, brownies, elves who put glamor before all else, dwarves, hideous reptilian changelings that swipe infants from cribs and leave their own children in their wake, goblins called boggart, various elementals, trolls, and treefolk. No humans.

Yep you can. For $15 for 32 digital pages.

Can we at least get PDF versions of these expansions if we buy them? I understand the goal is to get us to use this platform, but I know y'all make these in PDF form before you put them here. The sections on the Ultimate Bundle talking about this product, Netheril, and Astarion all claim the supplements are 32 pages, which means they must exist in a form that has pages somewhere. I just feel like I'm being cheated if I'm paying $15 for just the ability to look at the product I want on this website instead of actually buying the product. $15 of course being insane for a 32 page digital splat book (Forge of the Artificer is going to be $30 for over 100 pages in a book I can hold in real life, fun fact), but that's a whole separate issue.

 I get the impression this crossover is intended for Faerun setting fans, not for MtG setting fans. We're long overdue for a new MtG setting product (last one was Eldraine), but what MtG setting fan is going to pay this much for Faerun content they may never use? Definitely hoping I can buy this by itself.

Also was bummed that they never made miniatures for the Eldraine expansion.

I hate to be the "Pathfinder is so much better guy,' especially when they're two different games with vastly different philosophies, but come on! While D&D drip-feeds the community 2 whole species (3 depending on how they implement Dhampir), Pathfinder dropped 4-5. That's not to mention 4 brand new classes, a whole host of feats, items, classes, and none of this interfered with adventure publication! Oh, and did I forget to mention? For 99% percent of character creation options (just not stuff in specific campaigns, if memory serves), you don't have to pay a dime to use it. 

I'm not saying you need to hate D&D, or play Pathfinder 2e- I'm not here to yuck anyone's yum. What I'm just saying is that I'm getting really tired of WOTC resting on its laurels because it knows it can, and legitimately not giving an effort to engage its audience. You can only play the same 4 options of a class for so long before it gets boring, and that's assuming they're well made to start with. 

 

 

 Honestly the 2024 rules is what made me want to try 5e again and funnily enough it was because there were some Pathfinder influence in their new approach.

But with that being said, yeah WOTC is being very conservative with these releases. There is probably some fear of bloat that came with the 3rd edition era but also like you mentioned, they have became too comfortable with their success of 5e due to other people's hard work. Let's be honest, 5e is still holds some arachic holdovers from their previous editions and haven't pushed the envelope for improvement. 

I prefer the 2024 rules opposed to the 2014 rules that needed to be held together by band aids but they need to be more aggressive if they want to keep their veteran audience and attract new players based on their own merit and not the popularity that a cross promo could bring or depend solely on the attention that content creators bring. 

Starfinder 2e did a promo with Warframe but it was just a fun little adventure instead of show horning a product into their continuity. 

But hey as that Pathfinder guy, I hope you D&D fans eventually get a less corporate 1st team and a more community focused team like Paizo. Yes they have their skeletons in the closet but they have made substantial efforts to improve themselves as a company and since the Remaster they have improved the quality of their product. Plus they actively listen their fan base and are better at being transparent about their decisions regardless of the backlash. 

In the meantime though, I'll keep buying 2024 products for my friend's irl game since I finally get to be a player even if it is with 5e. 

I see people saying "I hope X or Y species is included in this": understand that there are 2 species included, and the others are simply "advice for playing" species that already exist in the D&D rules. We can guess that the "advice for playing" section will include advice on how a Lorwyn-Shadowmoor elf is different from a Forgotten Realms elf, for example. It's even possible they'll say something like "To play a Lorwyn-Shadowmoor kithkin, choose the Halfling species. Kithkin place an emphasis on being quick on their feet."

We already have Fairies, & Pixies are a favorite from older editions.

i like idea of MTG planes in FR setting to same degree i like Homelander in Startrek or Ciri in Lotr. Like there is continents unexplored properly, many places even in Faerun and damn sword coast that seen no action for hundred dr years, and  you dedicate expansions to FR book with other franchise?

As result both Lorwyn wouldn't get a deserving amount of material (it could pull proper setting book like Ravnica) and Forgotten Realms get less exposure they could get. Bad decision imo

Scroll down on the FR Ultimate Bundle page. The $15 price tag is in the list of contents of the bundle and if you scroll down past the pictures it's a section with the same information here plus that it's "32 pages" whatever that means.

Lorwyn Block is being revisited in January and is one of the sets that has the most excitement around it from a story, mechanic and flavor perspective, lol. They didn't "raid other content". It's brand synergy. "Here's this new Lorwyn content just before the new Lorwyn set drops". Also, before you ask why they didn't drop together, MTG's release schedule was screwed up by the spider-man set, which pushed Lorwyn back. These were supposed to drop together. 

The amount of content for the price I agree, is laughable. It should be a full fledged setting book full of ~200 pages of content focused on Lorwyn, like Strixhaven or Theros, at the same price point. The amount of content here is insultingly lazy. Half the work is already done with all of the lore, NPC's, kingdoms/etc. from MTG to begin with. 

Personally, I have zero interest in Magic the Gathering and would be strictly opposed to it's integration. I love the Forgotten Realms and this is not interesting to me. Just my thoughts. And you do not have to like them. I truly wish you would have given me Forgotten Realms content of the Forgotten Realms. Oh well. Choices. 

It is a 14.99 addition to the complexity of the Forgotten Realms so that is a bright spot. If they keep adding content of that price range into the Forgotten Realms and maybe get some of these DMGuild games advertised then maybe they are getting back into the game. I don't want to be pessimistic because I want DnD to be awesome. 

I already purchased the  Forgotten Realms Digital Bundle nearly 2 months ago. I don't see an option to just buy or add Lorwyn: First Light To the existing digital bundle I have.

Does that mean that I get Lorwyn: First Light, too?  Do I need to make another purchase?
