Acid (...)
A shimmering green arrow streaks toward a target within range and bursts in a spray of acid. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 4d4 acid damage immediately and 2d4 acid damage at the end of its next turn. On a miss, the arrow splashes the target with acid for half as much of the initial damage and no damage at the end of its next turn.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the damage (both initial and later) increases by 1d4 for each slot level above 2nd.

Posted Mar 8, 2023I can't wait to be a level 11 Alchemist Artificer so I can store this spell in my spell storing item and give it to my humoculus servant to use 10 times a day as my bonus action.

Posted Aug 23, 2023Can somebody explain to me how this spell interacts with the Bloodletting Focus of the new Cleric? Because that feature works with spells of an instantaneous duration and this spell while being instantaneous actually has a over-time effect. Does the creature take the necrotic damage twice?

Posted Apr 17, 2024It's not super clear, but I think the intent there is that the extra damage from Bloodletting focus is only meant to be applied once. The way it's worded is "any creature with blood that takes damage from the spell takes extra necrotic damage". If it were meant to happen twice, I think it would say something like "each time a creature with blood takes damage from the spell, it takes extra necrotic damage".

Posted Feb 2, 2025If you change it from d4s to d6s then it's at least comparable to scorching ray.
That's what I do as a DM.
