The touch of your shadow-wreathed hand can siphon life force from others to heal your wounds. Make a melee spell attack against a creature within your reach. On a hit, the target takes 3d6 necrotic damage, and you regain hit points equal to half the amount of necrotic damage dealt. Until the spell ends, you can make the attack again on each of your turns as an action.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 3rd.
No, because the Periapt of Wound Closure says "whenever you roll a Hit Die to regain hit points", and this spell doesn't involve rolling hit dice. Keep in mind that Hit Dice are a specific thing that you normally only roll during a short rest. That item does not apply to any other situation where you roll dice to heal.

This is a amazing spells, i love it. wish it had lower level so i cant cast it more using lower level spell slots
Does this mean if I do not concentrate on this spell, I cannot use another Level 3+ spell slot to cast it on my next turn?
if tit was 4d6 base damage or replace an attack it might would be more usable, it really doesnt worth to consetrate on such spell for what apears to be on 9,5 damage(and the 4.25 heal) if you hit the target as an action, especially if you are a wizard you will have to built tank early levels to even use it so you dont just waste from losing it from failed consetretion and dont straight up dying from a random slap maiking it harder to hit enemies that probably built for melle combat, having a good ac.
