Base Class: Cleric
Bring Down Holy Fire and Judgement
The Wrath Domain emphasizes the divine right to punish transgressions. Clerics who follow this path are zealous devotees of their faith and manifest their inner fire around them, amplified by their divine favor.
The Wrath Domain is associated with gods of justice, passion, war, pain, and death. Many of these gods are associated with the sun or fire. Gods of all alignments and temperaments can be wrathful under the right (or wrong!) circumstances.
Level 3: Wrath Domain Spells
Your connection to this divine domain ensures you always have certain spells ready. When you reach a Cleric level specified in the Wrath Domain Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.
Cleric Level | Prepared Spells |
---|---|
3 | Burning Hands, Faerie Fire, Scorching Ray, Flame Blade |
5 | Melf's Minute Meteors, Fireball |
7 | Fire Shield, Wall of Fire |
9 | Flame Strike, Immolation |
Level 3: Divine Wrath
As a Magic action, you present your Holy Symbol and expend a use of your Channel Divinity, calling down judgement on a point within 120 feet and creating a storm of holy fire in a 20-foot radius. The storm lasts for a number of rounds equal to your proficiency bonus or until you dismiss it (no action required). On each turn after the first, you may use a Magic action to move the storm to another point within 120 feet. At the end of your turn, each creature of your choice within the storm must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking Fire damage equal to 2d10 plus your Cleric level on a failed save or half as much damage on a successful one.
Additionally, Fire damage you deal with a spell or class ability ignores Resistance and Immunity.
Level 3: Retribution
When a creature that you can see within 30 feet of yourself deals damage to another creature, you can take a Reaction to cause the attacker to take the same amount of damage as Fire damage.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.
Level 6: Penance
Whenever you use Retribution, if you were one of the creatures that took the triggering damage, you do not expend a usage of Retribution.

Level 17: Tribulation
As a Magic action, you can cause yourself to emit an aura of divine judgement for 1 minute or until you dismiss it (no action required). The aura extends in a 60-foot radius. Your spells and class abilities that deal Fire damage do maximum damage to creatures of your choice within the aura. Other creatures still take damage as normal.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.
Note that the second copy of Retribution is there because DnD Beyond has a way to hide it in the character builder, but not on this "details" page (that I know of). The second version replaces the one at level 3 and is included so that the Penance effect is listed inside of Retribution entries on the character sheets.
A copy of the Light domain does the same duplication for Warding Flare, and that's an official subclass!
