Base Class: Artificer
While other Artificers dabble with magic items, you have started down the path to master them and have unlocked the secrets of turning items you create into conduits of power. This network of magic is used to bolster allies and harass foes.
Tool Proficiency
3rd-level Magic Network Engineer feature
You gain proficiency with jeweler's tools. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan’s tools of your choice.
Magic Network Engineer Spells
3rd-level Magic Network Engineer feature
You always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Magic Network Engineer Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don’t count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.

Network Infrastructure
3rd-level Magic Network Engineer feature
As part of building your network, you can infuse 2 additional items. This increases by 1 at 9th level and again at 15th level.
Additionally, while you hold or carry an infused item, you can communicate to other holders of your infused items as if using the message spell. At 9th level, this upgrades to the sending spell and at 15th level it upgrades to telepathic bond spell.
Energy Surge
3rd-level Magic Network Engineer feature
As a bonus action while you hold or carry one of your infused items, you can distribute power through your network in the form of points equal to your proficiency bonus among creatures that hold your other infused items that you can see or yourself. This benefit lasts until the start of your next turn and the points can be added to one attack roll or to AC.
Some of the leftover energy lashes out at the nearest hostile creature out to 10ft around one of the recipients of your choosing and must succeed on a DEX saving throw against your spell save DC or take 1d6 Lightning Damage.
Overload
5th-level Magic Network Engineer feature
You can add your half of your intelligence modifier (rounded up) to a single target other than yourself of your Energy Surge feature while they are within 30 feet of you as part of the same bonus action as you flood the network with a greater amount of power. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Excess energy leaps out towards the nearest hostile creature out to 10ft around all of the recipients of Energy Surge and must succeed on a DEX saving throw against your spell save DC or take 1d6 Lightning Damage.
Infusion Adept
9th-level Magic Network Engineer feature
You have become adept in infusing items and have become able to infuse them at the end of a short rest as well as a long rest.
Maximum Output
9th-level Magic Network Engineer feature
You can now add your full intelligence modifier to a single target of your Energy Surge feature while they are within sight or half (rounded up) to yourself as part of the same bonus action. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
All hostile creatures out to 10ft around all of the recipients of Energy Surge must succeed on a DEX saving throw against your spell save DC or take 1d6 Lightning Damage.
Infusion Master
15th-level Magic Network Engineer feature
You have mastered the art of infusion and can now place your infusions on magic items.

Change Log:
.2 - Split the features of Energy Surge into two features and adding another step in progression, added method of "removing" Overload once Maximum Output is granted to reduce clutter in the character sheet (using the optional class features tab in character creation), updated some more text
.15 - corrected a silly spelling error that I finally noticed that REALLY bothered me.
.14 - change tool proficiency (again) to something that I figured was more fitting after thinking about it some more with the updated theme in mind, updated the other instances of the subclass name that I forgot to do before.
.13 - Renamed subclass to differentiate from other engineer types as the theme solidifies as well as started adding flavor text, updated some formatting and wording
.12 - capped range of Energy Surge, update some text
