When I cast spirit guardians in roll 20, it rolls, offers radiant damage / necrotic damage as separate rolls and then adds the total of both of these as the total damage. The spell description says we base damage type from our alignment (radiant / necrotic) and that one that applies is our damage type.
The damage type should be drawn from the character sheet alignment or by just listing one roll's total, not a separate roll for each type. It is not a total of both types but one type that may cause extra damage if a creature is opposite of the damage type. (radiant would hurts say... vampires or devils.. more than it would an elf.)
Thoughts? Or am I mis-interpreting things? I do have a screenshot of it, but am not able to attach it from my desktop.
where in DND Beyond am I able to test these rolls to see if they are rolling properly on the sites that DND beyond do have something to do with? Has this been checked into on sites that are applicable to see if it is indeed valid, or is the response flipping it away because it is happening somewhere else?
Well I can tell you that is not how DDB rolls the damage because the dice roller built into DDB can’t roll multiple types of damage yet.
the problem you are having invoked the extension Beyond20 which pulls info from DDB and gives it to roll20. This extension is built by a third party so any issues you are having with rolls showing up in roll20 are going to be because of this extension. DDB has no way of just sharing results in roll20. Hence why Sposta said you need to go to those sites. Your issue is not here on DDB
From your character sheet, you should be able to roll the damage, assuming that you've got access to the dice on here (which I think everyone has now, since dice rolls in DnDBeyond are now shareable with the campaign (which show up on DnDBeyond).
Alternatively, you could just roll the appropriate damage on Roll 20 by typing in (/roll 3d8) without the parentheses for a 3rd level cast and adjusting to 4d8, etc for upcast versions.
Those are the workarounds for the issue while contacting Beyond20, Roll20, or both would be the best way to resolve the actual problem.
For now, we are just going to get used to having both show up on the rolls and take the one that applies to my character. I'm not sure why it is offering the 2 sets of roll values. It just makes it confusing to see 2 different values when the impact is supposed to be identical, only the image of what is seen is different.
Regardless, for now, our solution to this issue is "live with it."

This company has absolutely nothing to do with Roll20, nor Beyond20. Any issues with either of those should be taken up with them.

Thanks, that answer gives a lot more info. I'll see what I can find out from the middle man, then.
Appreciate a more complete answer!
