I rolled a sorcerer yesterday and when I was adding spells, I noticed that many spells are listed twice--Often with slightly different text.
One example is Green-Flame Blade. Please go look at it and tell me I am not wrong. The two listed are slightly different.
Also, it looks like it calculates To Hit instead of Damage. At first level, when I cast it, if I hit and damage with a weapon, the spell will leap fire from first target, doing SPELL CASTING MODIFIER worth of damage to a second nearby target. The spell in the Attacks panel lists the spell as having a +4 to Hit, despite not being a spell that rolls to hit, The simple melee attack does the rolling. I believe the +4 to hit should actually be the damage that is done to the secondary target.

I only see one version of the spell. Where were you adding the spells from? The character sheet or the builder? Additionally mine says for a level 10 - 1d8,1d8+2
Well, I am using the character sheet, looking at the "Spells" section. When I click the heading "Add Spells" below that I* see double listing for "Booming Blade" and "Green-Flame Blade."
As my sorcerous origin, I have selected Wild Magic.
Edit: I should also mention that I am using the option to pull from all sources, which I have everything purchased and unlocked.
I don't own SCAG or those cantrips on DDB (although I've homebrewed one of them), so I can't try it; I started to experiment right after my last post and them remembered that I didn't have the content myself.
My understanding of content sharing is that once content sharing is turned on, content belonging to anyone in the campaign is shared. But I could be wrong about that. One thing you could try is turning off homebrew for that character and seeing if that makes a difference. (If you need homebrew, you could turn it back on after you tested.)
If no one else offers to test, and if you have the Master TIer, if you wanted me to test it for you, you could temporarily add me to the campaign and I'd give it a go.
I have SCAG and I could not replicate it. And just tested if the share content is on, homebrew creations of players are also shared. It is probably ArwensDaughter guess.
Thank you guys for checking. I have zero homebrew content created and my 4 players are brand new to DDB and have only rolled 1 toon ever, and that is in my campaign. SO, I doubt it is one of their homebrews.
What is wierd about it is that the sorcerer character in question is actually one of my players. She brought this spell thing to my attention, and I see it on her character as well when I click to view her sheet. So, I started my own Sorcerer, just on my own characters page (not int he campaign) and I see it on him as well.
So this issue has come up on another person's character and my own. One in the campaign, one not.

Problem solved. I just tested the the "Include Homebrew" toggle on/off. I turned it off and those two spells no longer have duplicates. Thanks to those that suggested this might be the problem. I didn't realize this option included all the homebrew that all users have made. I thought it just included your own person homebrew items.

Yes, the character is in a campaign, but I am the DM of that campaign, and only my content is shared. None of which is home brewed.
Could someone create a halfling sorcerer, wild magic, and try to duplicate this?
Hi Gint,
when content sharing is enabled for a campaign, it means that ALL content is shared, from all participants in that campaign, whether they are players or the DM. If you have homebrew enabled, then ANY homebrew created by anyone in the campaign will be available.
As for the Homebrew question, Actually, I don't think the homebrew is shared via the campaign at all. It is more simple than that. If, on the first page of Character Creation, you enable Homebrew Content, then the creation process includes all Homebrew Content from all players everywhere--NOT just from your campaign. Every thing that has ever been created and "Published" using the Homebrew Tools becomes available to your character.
I tested this with a character in the campaign and on NOT in the campaign. All the junk created and made public by all DDB users everywhere was available.

Another moderator and I have tried to replicate this issue and are not able to - with homebrew content switched on a new character, we're not seeing any homebrew spells or items, other than those that we've added to our collection.
Have you maybe added a number of spells to your homebrew collection?
Can you give some examples for me of the "junk" that you're seeing?
Well, oddly enough. Last night, I could reproduce it when making a brand new wild magic sorcerer. Today, I cannot.
I don't know. It's weird. Myself and another player (my wife) we were seeing this on character not in our campaign. Just characters we were testing this issue with. Booming Blade and Green-Flame Blade were showing in "Add Spells" drop down with duplicated versions (showing up in the list twice) and they had slightly different texts.
When we would toggle the Homebrew Content switch (when editing the character, page 1) the duplicate spells would disappear. When we turned it back on, they would reappear.
Today, this is not the case. I cannot make the duplicate spells appear, regardless of the Homebrew Content toggle.
So IDK what happened. The problem appears to be gone. No need to ask for further information as I have given all I know. It is gone. Mark this thread as solved, I guess.

Is your character in a campaign with content sharing turned on? If so, I'm wondering if someone in your campaign homebrewed those two cantrips.

Well, in this case post the link to your character. The mods can see it, and maybe one of them will solve this mystery XD.
