HI, I have no clue if this is where I'm supposed to put this. If it isn't here, please let me know and I'll move over to it.
I've been homebrewing on D&D Beyond for a while now but for some reason when making a ranger subclass and testing it, my optional features aren't being selected properly. I've linked what it looks like down below. Basically, when I select the feature in the character builder, it disappears and goes blue again, but the character sheet tracks it anyway. This also leads to some spells the subclass gives the character appearing multiple times on the prepared spells section of the character sheet.
I can’t tell what’s going on from that, but if you post some pics of the way you set up the brew itself, or at least what it’s sposta do, I can help you.
And there’s a whole forum dedicated to Homebrew & Houserules:
Sorry for the lack of clarity, I'm not entirely sure how to post it but I took a few more snapshots to try and make it clearer, with some descriptions of the process as well. Essentially, I tried to make a water based ranger who would choose a type of weapon (one handed, ranged, two one handed, or two handed) and that weapon would evolve as you progressed. For some reason, i cannot permanently select the desired weapon feature in the character builder, and every time I try to, it stacks in the character sheet.
Okay, I need to see a snapshot of the feature that has those options, i need to see one of those options opened up, and I need all the same for the 3rd level feature.
Oh wait, I just realized that you said you picked an option to select something. If you attach options to a feature and then put modifiers or something that presents a choice within an option that confuses the system.
I tell ya what, just let me see the text of what it’s supposed to do and I’ll be able to help you. Just go to the homebrew’s details page, drag highlight the descriptions of all the features and their options, copy them and paste it in a post here so I can read it. (Or PM it to me if you prefer.) If I know what you want it to do I can tell you how to do it. (Or if it can’t be done.)
