I've tried to read through other threads, and fiddle with it myself, but it's still not doing what I want, and I just don't understand what people are talking about when I read about it. So please, if you think you can help, explain it like I'm 5. 😭
I currently have my HP set to "Manual".
My total ROLLED (rolled physically at the table with my DM) is 23. Started with 9 (rogue with +1 con), rolled a 2 at level 2 (+1 con), rolled a 5 at level 3 (+1 con), rolled 5 again at level 4 (upped my con to +2).
So far I have just been using the "Override HP" option, and putting in what my total should be (which I think is 28, but please correct me if I'm wrong).
The problem with this is that as soon as I hit my "Long Rest" it resets me to 9 HP for some reason.
Can someone tell me what the hell is going on here, and how I can fix this?!
Yes, your HP total should be 28, but your total “rolled” is only 20. You don’t include the Con bonus in the “rolled” amount, so your total rolled is 8+2+5+5=20. Then you get +8 from having 4 levels and a +2 Con mod, that gets applied retroactively to all your levels (which is why it shouldn’t be included in the “rolled” amount).
The reason it keeps resetting on you is because you never actually updated your HP from the original 9, you just keep overriding it. That override feature is intended for temporary effects like life draining attacks, and aid. To properly update your HP, follow these steps:
Open your character in the builder (not on the sheet itself), and go to the Class Tab and click the blue [MANAGE HP] button:
On the popup, enter “20” into the field labeled “Rolled HP,” and then click the green [APPLY] button:
That’s all you have to do, the system will automatically add the correct bonuses/level from your Constitution. Next time you level up, add whatever number the die generates to that 20 in the rolled field, so if you roll a 6 (without Con mod), then you would change that field to read “26.” Got it?

I can't seem to get the "Override" part to go down to 0 though. If I type "0", put in the rolled amount, hit "apply" it defaults it back to "1".
Don’t set it to anything, just delete it.
