I've created a homebrew item that's an improvement on the Stone of Good Luck https://www.dndbeyond.com/magic-items/7787694-percys-stone-of-good-fortune and I seem to have discovered a bug; when I create a wizard character with a race that comes with a cantrip (tried this with both Air Genasi and High Elf) and attune to this item, that cantrip receives a bonus to its attack as if it's a spell AND a melee attack, and is getting a +4 instead of +2. This happens whether the racial cantrip is a ranged or melee spell, and the bonus is (correctly) only +2 to the same cantrip added as a wizard spell. This happens whether I use the homebrew modifier "Bonus > Melee Attacks" or "Bonus > Melee Weapon Attacks" (I thought the difference between the two was that the former also counts for melee spell attacks, but Shocking Grasp specifically as a wizard spell doesn't get +4 with that, but does get +4 as a racial cantrip).
This seems to indicate that racial cantrips are being counted as both a melee weapon attack and a spell. Is this a known bug? I know I can override the cantrip on the character sheet as a workaround.
I’m not seeing what you’re describing, all your spells appears to have the correct Attack bonuses (+6 from Proficiency +1 from Intelligence), but I notice that your magic item is not attuned, so I can’t see if it’s affecting anything.

Please post a link to your character sheet so someone can look into this for you. (Post the actual URL, not the “share” link.)

It is possible the system is set up to consider certain user-created actions as Melee Attacks by default, possibly with limited ability to override that default. A month or so ago another user posted - with screengrabs - about creating a custom action, and it certainly appeared that custom action was adding the character's STR mod despite not being labeled as a melee attack.
It's not clear precisely what's happening or whether that issue is related to this one, but it seems plausible.
Sure thing, it should be public now https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/115435226
