I've created a home brew weapon, quarterstaff of the Ild Rune, I've added a damage modifier of 1d6 fire, but when I add it to my character is only showing the base damage for a quarterstaff, 1d6/1d8 bludgeoning, not the additional fire damage.
Similar experience crafting Spider Staff of Nezznar. I created a modifier for 1d6 poison to stack with 1d6 bludgeoning. The weapon shows an attack of 1d6/1d8 bludgeoning. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?
No, technically it is not a bug. It happens for Flame Tongue as well. But I agree It will be useful to have listed all the damage. We will see the character sheet revamp how will handle this.
I consider this unhelpful if not listed under the weapon. I have a lot of new players and invested money into this DNDBeyond to help them. Considering I have multiple weapons in my game that have and extra dice of damage that they have to dig around for is annoying. In fact the thing that makes no sense to me is in one case I attempted to add 2d8 to one modifier on my homebrew weapon in an attempt to force this only for it to still not show on the character sheet.
I do feel that the character sheet not showing modifiers I have added to a weapon to be a bug, otherwise why do have the ability to add that on a weapon only to have to add it to the description for characters to even see?
Happy to hear this. I overall do really like the character sheet and my players have all praised it. This was the only thing I hit that didn't feel like a nitpick of some kind.
How is this problem a year old and still unaddressed? There are some kinks with homebrew item creation like modifiers not doing anything at all. Same with applying spells of a higher level.
I am not sure what you mean, but the problem reported by the OP has been addressed and resolved.
Please, if there are modifiers not doing anything, report them in a new thread.
I'm having the same problem as PhilBonnici. Trying to display/roll piercing + acid
We can currently get it to display, just like flame tongue weapons add fire damage to an attack. But it currently won’t add them together in the roll. We still have to roll that additional damage separately on the DDB sheet. They are working on fixing it, but we’re not sure how long that will take them. In the meantime, to get it set up properly so it’s ready to go when it is fixed it’s done like this:
How do I even create a homebrew weapon? I'm don't see a weapon option.
Collections >> Create Magic Item >> Create From Scratch >> Base Item Type: [Select Weapon in Drop Down] >> Base Weapon : [Select the weapon you want] >> rest is as normal for magic item creation, check Homebrew forum for any possible guides or to seek further assistance in creating the item you want to create.

The other way to do it is Collections-> Create Magic Item-> Use a Template. Then you can use any magic item available to you as a base template to create your own thing. So you could even start with a Flame TongueGreatsword and change it to do acid damage and call it an “Acid Tongued Pretty Good Sword” or whatever and go from there.
It's 2021 and this still doesn't work. Just add the dice together and go from there. There's no point rolling on-screen if the dice are wrong. Homebrew +1 Frost dagger 1d4+4 damage PLUS 1d4 frost damage. Display as 2d4+4 in the damage. Instead, it still just shows 1d4+4.
So the magic +1 is added in, but not the d4 frost.
I've looked up lots of things relating to dnd beyond homebrew and literally every time I find an old post thats on this site thats anywhere from 2 to 5 years old. Like, guys, all this new dnd content is cool but can the site please be less... archaic? It's really really lackluster nowadays and theres tons thats just, not there. Its really unfortunate, and at best things are just needlessly complicated and convoluted.

If you mean that it is neither an insect nor an arachnid, then you are correct.

The character sheet is currently undergoing a MAJOR overhaul.
I am hopeful that the new version will address this issue.

Assuming this is the same issue I'm experiencing, I believe this bug is still happening?

I didn't realize it was a separate issue. I am having issues with modifiers still, but have removed my parent comment.
I'm still unable to assign multiple damage types, but for a custom attack assigned by the dm. In this case, a bite by a drider
It does piercing plus poison.
Can't get the poison to display.
Do I need to create a weapon to make this work?

Modifier: Damage->Subtype: [damage type]->Dice Count: N->Die Type: dX
It will display a little off to the side from the regular damage under notes. (If you don’t see that field, turn your phone sideways.)
I hope that helps.
