I'm working on a custom kobold that uses a Racial Trait option to chose between two replacements for Grovel, Cower, and Beg. When I set this option in the sheet, the parent trait shows on the sheet under the 'Limited Use' section, but the chosen ability's description does not show anywhere on the sheet.
Ahhh, so it's not showing the text of the option selected for the trait. I'll need to check with staff, but I believe this is intended (I can't think of a trait of a race where you have an option that falls under limited use, hence the display text would show the description of the trait, not the description of the option)
Looking at the Variant Tiefling, I seem to at least be able to see the description for the choice in the builder, but not on the sheet.
It would be nice to only place the actual option on there so that I'm not polluting my player's sheets with choices they didn't make.
In the interim I'm going to play with a replica tiefling to see if there is a design consideration I'm missing that can at least make it cleaner when he's making initial design choices.
A workaround of sorts is to list all the details of how each of them work within the initial trait itself (before you pick the options).
This has two effects:
1) It allows players to instantly see what their choices are without having to click through each option.
2) The player will be able to see what their ability does on the character sheet.
As you say, it leaves unnecessary information in the character sheet - but that is how even the official variant tiefling is working at the moment. Fortunately it's expandable/collapsible, so your player won't have their sheet filled with all the options he didn't pick all of the time.

Does it show up under Racial Traits?

Yes. No matter what is selected, it has the parent trait's description with the option name.
So instead of the limited use ability's description, it says, "You receive XX or YY instead of Grovel, Cower, and Beg"
Can you please link the Character URL and the Variant Race URL so I can take a look to see what is going on?

Let me know if I have to make these public for you to see them.

The racial trait is 'Unexpected Talent'.
Edit: Ability Score Increase is doing the same. It refers to the choice determining the increase rather than stating the description for the increase.
Thanks in advance

Hopefully this is of some help for now.

It is, thank you.
With the new character sheet revamp, is there a place I can populate a snippet to put tails under 'Actions'?
