I specifically turned off content sharing for Strixhaven and Aquisitions Incorporated, but players can still prepare spells from these. How do I fix this? Any help appreciated.
You cannot “fix” it unfortunately. When you block content from sharing you only block the players’ ability to read the compendiums. Player options are still shared within the campaign and available to select. Blocking content is intended to prevent players from reading ahead in an adventure, nothing more.
What Sposta said. There is no "block" for character options.
Be aware, your homebrew collection is shared automatically too. If you have anything you want to keep secret, remove it from your collection (your creations can still be found in "my creations")
The idea that you cannot restrict content sharing using a tool called content sharing, in which you turn access to each book on or off, is patently ridiculous.
This bug causes regular problems at game tables, as content that is meant to be restricted is (often accidentally) used by players, and the first time it shows up can be mid-combat when a player wants to cast a spell that isn't allowed.

Developers - please fix this!
Not a bug. This is the way they wanted it to work.
I know. We all want to be able to restrict content by source so we don't select it accidentally. We've asked, they are considering options. In case you haven't notice, DDB doesn't update features often. Most of their time is spent working on backend stuff that we barely notice if at all.
To be honest, it's even worse if it's deliberate. That's wilfully antagonistic to Dungeon Masters - who in almost all cases are the ones paying for the master tier subscription to access content sharing in the first place.

Maybe. Spells are the only thing hard to self restrict (races and subclass are easy enough to check and only need to be checked once) and most DMs don't restrict spells.
The content filter option that they did make is specifically to prevent reading adventures that the DM is running and for that purpose it works just fine. It would be weird if that same filter prevented the characters from adding items or backgrounds from that adventure.

This is clearly a bug.

It's 2025 and this is still an issue. Why shouldn't I be able to pick specific books that I've purchased to share for specific campaigns?
Would love for DnD Beyond to prioritize this functionality of the content manager!
