I noticed when building my rogue that the expertise I selected with the criminal background proficiencies (stealth and thieve's tools) shows up on the skill (double circled) but doesn't show up under features and traits. I guess it only shows expertise with skills you take proficiency from the class list, not the background? This is problematic because thieve's tools doesn't show the proficiency bonus with it so unless I remember, or happen to look back at the character builder, there's no way of knowing he has expertise in them
An easy way to remind yourself of this expertise in thieves' tools is to add it directly on the character sheet as a custom skill, using DEX as the modifier and with expertise as the proficiency level!
One thing to note, once you hit Rogue 6 and get the 2nd set of Expertises, the Features & Traits section only shows the Expertises from Rogue 6 and not the ones from Rogue 1. Could that be what's happening with yours? Either way it's good to have the custom Thieves Tools in Skills :)
(To test, I added a Rogue level to an Artificer character and selected Arcana and my background proficiency for Expertise, and both showed up on the character sheet Features & Traits.)

If it stops showing the expertise from level 1 once you hit level 6 that must be what's happening to me. I think this is a bit of a bug on the sheet, but the solution above works well for me :)
Even without Expertise I went ahead & added a custom Thieves Tools skill, since that check is such an important thing for Rogues.
And yeah, it's definitely a bug. The same thing happens with Bards, who get 2 Expertises at level 3 and again at level 10. I'm pretty sure it's already on the list of things to fix, but either way, I look forward to it being fixed.
Pretty sure they plan to have tool proficiencies show up as numbers on the sheet too, so we won't need to add custom skills, but at least that's available as a workaround for the time being.

This bug with Rogues and Expertise is identical to the bug Rangers used to have with Favored Enemy.* It has to do with multiple features at different levels having the same name causes a tilt. It took DDB a while to banish that particular code devil from the Ranger class, and their fix technically “broke” people’s character sheets, which is something DDB is scared shirtless to do. 🙄 It really wasn’t that bad, people needed to fuss with stuff a little. Sure, some people flipped out at the time, but most folks have forgotten about it by now because now is so much better than before. It’s kinda like getting a bad tooth pulled after it hurting for a long time. Sure it sucked eggs at the time, but afterwards is such a relief compared to how bad the tooth for so long that ya kinda forget the pain from the extraction. *https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/news-announcements/90361-updates-to-ranger-characters
But there are a lot more Rogues out there than Rangers, so it’ll impact more sheets and more users and they wold probably rather not have to kick that hornets nest for as long as they can avoid it. And since it shows correctly in the Skills section, that means they can avoid for a pretty long time….
It'll affect both Rogues & Bards, so that's even more. And yeah, I had the feeling something like that might be the case... at least it's just 2 things that will be cleared and need re-setting.

Thanks! That does the trick for me. Still getting used to all the customization options on the sheets :)
