The bag of Holding should be 15 lbs, even if empty. It is currently set to 0 lbs in the item description and character sheet inventory.
Also, are there plans to be able to place/assign items to the containers in which they're carried? In the case of extradimensional bags, this should reduce the carried weight, as appropriate.
I would also like to have a way to put items in to storage. My players are currently underwater and have stored much of their gear on shore. It would be nice if I could put all of their items in a bag of holding so that items that they are not carrying are not counted against them and so that their character sheet accurately reflects which items they have on hand and which are stored at a different location.
Hi Moderators, Any resolution on this yet? My party has a halfling rogue (with only 9 str) that pilfers everything, and with splint, rapier, 2 longbows & 3 daggers & other stuff keeps ending up encumbered. If he has a bag of holding or Hewards handy haversack then he can stash stuff unencumbered.
So Stormknight, any "Containers" options coming to DDB soon?
It needs to be put on the express highway. It's a little crazy to have the items, but not be able to use them properly. For those of us using the encumbrance rules, this REALLY makes DnD Beyond limited in its ability to handle what my campaign needs.

Yeah. For me, after the revamp, containers and having an 'off character' storage option within the character sheet (like, stuff you keep at camp, or in your castle), were the things I wanted most.

Please, it's been a year now. Can you give us a timeline on when we can add items to our bags of holding with their designated weights?
This would be extremely helpful, as the contents can change often and tracking it manually is a PAIN.
Maybe it'll be a Christmas present?
Unfortunately, it wasn’t on the list of “upcoming” features, plus much of December is downtime/code freeze for them, so I wouldn’t get your hopes up. It’s on the long term list, I know, but no ETA for when.

Nice suggestion, I think this should be done. Thanks for this.
Hi there and thank you for reporting.
Magic Items don't have weight implemented yet, so this will be sorted out when that is added.
There will indeed be a need to manage a separate inventory for the contents of the bag.

Yes I am in on this it should be an option that Bag items can have things IN them so you see what you have in them

+1 for this.
Would be very useful if the weight of the items inside the bag were ignored.
Maybe a simpler solution for now should be to modify the maximum encumbrance while using a bag of holding.
+3 this.
My current game, we have had to stop using DND Beyond because of these defects.
Hi Stormknight, This issue is nearly 10 months old now. Have there been any developments with storage or bags?
Gonna bump this again! I would really love to see a resolution to this, as I am also having the same issue <3
There is no ETA for containers yet, but it is on the roadmap.

Another +1 for this request.

I can always have hope, eh?
Same request here. Was surprised encumbrance max did not change when activating bag of holding. Not sure what activating the bag does?
