I'll admit, the burning stogie is a nice touch. Heh. Given any thought to building Axl's suit as a half-giant or other Huge Boi species, to highlight the size differential between Critter and Armor?
The more I play with this tool, the more impressed I am. This is quite helpful for a lot of folks struggling for art, and frankly also for inspiration.
This is Hjalmar's mini! I have had him ready to go since the Kickstarter ended with a colour coupon code ready to use the MOMENT lighting effects and decals go live. I want those arcanic runes (like on the clothing in the commission art on page 1) and glowing vials so bad!!!

Man, it is gonna take a while to get used to the color editor interface on that program. I cannot get fur to come out right short of using a preset.
I've found the body/clothing options are only good for getting a quick base to start from, and the advanced options under those are just not worth using as they're too abstract and limited. Most customisation should be done from the paint section, but you can also use mix to find colours you've used before, or customise them. There's definitely some weirdness here and there depending what exact look you want, as sometimes you might get better results picking a different material to get the type of transition you want, then change the colour under Mix.
Fur is definitely tough, as there's no texture to any of the colours, so if the target area on the model doesn't have texture (e.g- the furry torso which has multiple areas to apply hair colour to) then it just goes on flat like skin, that's one of the problems with the current bovine legs for a minotaur or satyr; if you go furry torso you need to find two different colours to get them to match up better.
It's fun though, I've done loads of characters; no artificers yet, at least no serious ones.

She's an orphan adopted by an artificer that "enhanced" her as a kid with a metal symbiote (without her knowledge). Her home city is flying and controled by a church state with the artificer-guild being the second most powerful force in the city(since they operate lifts up and down the city). She was too curious about how the city keeps afloat, so she climbed on the underside of the city - which is forbidden. The guards (flying paladins) caught her and threw her down. Thats when the symbiote grew her wings (I imagine them different, but not many wings in Hero-Forge) and saved her from certain death. Now she has to find a place in the world and find out how to react to the wings she suddenly grew (glide wings ofc. but still).
I love the char very much, pls don't be to harsh :S She also has a steel defender (Bohne (Bean in german)). Bohne is like a barrel with an oven in his tummy and thin arms and legs. He's like Wall-E but big and does force damage like a pro.

He totally is. Go have a look at his catalogue of commissions. He captures people's PC's so well (you tell by their praise of his work) that also goes to show there are some vividly creative DnD players out there with how they stylise their PCs.

An artificer I'm working on. V. Human Battle Master Artificer. Took the Haunted background, he basically grew up with a war vet smithy dad and a local arcanist/healer mom in a small town. Left for a life of his own, started a tinker/mender business in a near by larger town. Met a woman, fell in love, had a kid. Parents died, returned "home", discovered an eldritch tome while going through the estate. Damn near went mad with visions of an "alien" invasion from a deep dark dimension. Wife took the kid and left, now he uses all his time and tinkering talents hunting down any beast or monster he can, hoping to stop the forces of impending doom. Sort of cliche but i feel Artificers sort of excel at any cliche you throw at them.

I tried to get my Artificer (Phin - Phineia Luft (luft -> german for air), (Simic) Hybrid Battlesmith) together in Hero Forge:

Here is my Artificer and then some other characters. The Artificer is a battlesmith Phineas with his Steel Defender Candace.

This is Minno Nev, my Alchemist. They joined the party at level 6 but before that they were a wandering trader.
They're very colourful!!! Are those prosthetic legs I spy?!
