"Gear...hooks, as much rope as a 10x10x10 square could hold."
Now, that's how you stop some npcs from pursuing the party in some dungeon, just fill the dam corridor with rope, they will never pass that, not even a fireball will destroy it all in a hit since it will burn and keep burning for at least 2 turns
in my way, my character is kinda rolled as a half djinn from Woderland, so i just play it as if he create stuff from nothing for his spells but the feature i play it as if he just "happens to find stuff around", and it goes to hilarious situations like being in nowhere and then somepne says something like "we need X to do this" and my bard just says "why dont we use this one that is right here?" and then suddenly there is the object, which considering that a t lv14 you can make a damn Trebuchet (huge size) is hilarious 😂🤣
Add "Dropped a 15x15x15 block of stone on some drow levitating up a tower wall, from the tower's top. It wasn't pretty for them.
remember that "The item must appear on a surface or in a liquid that can support it.", so some dms would say that a stone of 15ft side wouldnt be supported by that if the levitation spel has a weight limit, since putting the stone would cause that is no longer supported. thats why it says so, otherwize you can from lv3 just appear an anvil over the head of the enemies and let it fall for even more cartoonish shenanigans
And When I looked at the character sheet the SHORT part of the text, it misses that detail.
"As an action, you can create one nonmagical item of your choice in an unoccupied space within 10 ft. of you. The maximum value of the item is 280 gp and it lasts for 5 hours. The maximum size of the item is medium [6th] Large, [14th] Huge."
The DM saw the 10 ft rule but only if you expand the power fully on the sheet, do you see that the surface rule.
It's an oversight on my part. And admittedly in 14 levels of tunnels, this has never come up before. So, the rule of cool stands for that encounter...and never again.
"As an action, you can channel the magic of the Song of Creation to create one nonmagical item of your choice in an unoccupied space within 10 feet of you. The item must appear on a surface or in a liquid that can support it. The gp value of the item can't be more than 20 times your bard level, and the item must be Medium or smaller. The item glimmers softly, and a creature can faintly hear music when touching it. The created item disappears after a number of hours equal to your proficiency bonus." . . . The size of the item you can create with this feature increases by one size category when you reach 6th level (Large) and 14th level (Huge).
so... for lv14, which such calculations of x20, yes, you can get up to 28gp, however, at lv14th you also get Creative Crescendo
You are no longer limited by gp value when creating items with Performance of Creation.
Which means you are no longer limited by the 280gp that you are supposed to be, you can even create consumable components for spells Need a 1000gp gem? done, and cast the spell and consume it. Is a good way to use a 2nd level spellslot to use a high level spell to do stuff, like a resurrection spell As my character would say: oh, we need a very rare gem that can only be found in the other side of the world... or we can use this one i just found in the floor *makes a gem worth 1000gp appears in the floor*

can create objects that are usable as the material components of D&D spells, as long as you abide by the limitations in the feature
Thats just a confirmation of any item that requirea a consumable item, like Heros feast as an example, you can cast True resurrection or even Wish which both require a "25000gp worth of diamonds", and while a lot of dms that are bad dms would say that since says 'diamonds' in plural, you can comically and cartoonish make a diamond that is 25 times bigger than the 1000gp diamond so is worth 25k gp, or i have seen some dms that allow the "you make a bag containing X items that are all the same", just like by raw you can create complicated items like making a Trebuchet, that by raw dont have a cost but is Huge sized and since from lv14th you can make Huge objects and of any cost, you can proceed with the
Party: "we need something to throw us past that wall"
Bard: "we could use this threbuchet i just happen to find" *proceeds to create a trebuchet next to the party in middle of the ship they have beed using for the past week and that they own
Party: uh... neves notice that this thing was here...
It really us a Cartoon subclass, you literally use hammer space stuff
Get yourself a top hat that is a flavored bag of holding, a nice looking robe of useful item reflavored as a nice gentlemen coat and now you can be a Wonderland charactee that just keep taking big stuff oit of nowhere like searching your inner pocket in the coat and get a massive mastiff dog and say it was sleeping there
Other items also fit perfectly, like a extendable pole or a portable hole, and for higher lvs, the portable fortress, you can also impersonate a pokemon trainer and get a Bag of Tricks which let ypi get 3 random animals per day and throw them as meat cannon or at the start of the day to annoy your dm for the ammount of tracking you can do with a giant elk, a wolk and a little furret as pets, trackers and mount 😂🤣😂🤣

More specifically, a 1000 gp gem encrusted bowl of Heroes' Feast. Jeremy Crawford specifically discussed that in a tweet: Does a College of Creations bard have the ability to create spell components or gunpowder with their Performance of Creation ability?
