With other paladin subclasses, and in particular the ones in the 2024 PHB, you instantly get a general idea of what the character is all about (unless you choose to reflavour things of course). Not so with the noble genies paladin. Other subclasses have some sort of ideal that they follow, but here there's just a vague connection to genies. The whole description reads more like a sorcerer or warlock. And while there are tenets listed, they are quite generic, apart from the mention of elements.
So what exactly is a noble genies paladin meant to be?
I mean I know the tenants. It just doesn't make sense.
That said I did create one because I rolled good stats hahaha
Lol. Yeah. I mean balance can make sense, it just seems more like a yin-yang light and dark thing rather than fire, earth, wind and water. Feels like they should have been inspired by the avatar.
I'm starting to come around on the Oath: Protect and respect the elemental planes, Protect the realm of the Genie, etc. But by that respect it sounds more like an Elemental Druid. This could have easily been the 5.5 Genie Warlock or a Dragon Paladin. Both fit this much better.
The other thing that is driving me nuts is that it really pushes for a Dex build. Which is great. But mechanically that gets clunky and/or doesn't fit the visual theme. I'm visualizing (and I know I'm not alone) a whole Arabian Knights theme. I think Arabian Knight, I think big ol' Falchion. Which doesn't work since Str. is now a dump stat. With this you're encouraged to use a rapier for max potential damage.
That's a swashbuckler. Not a Paladin.
And dual wielding gets in the way of your smites.
The whole thing just feels...off

That's a good question. The entire concept is highly dumb.
Sow the seeds of creation amid the ashes of destruction.
Lead with splendor and grace.
Respect the elements, and fear their wrath.

You're not alone. Rant incoming:
