wizards don't get shillelagh, and they won't unless they waste magic initiate, and that forces you to put something in strength. Besides, have you ever heard of ray of frost?
Doing a bit of a deeper dive - the OP has a staff of withering - so normal quarterstaff damage but hits magic creatures for full damage, but no pluses on to hit or damage from the item. Then it has 3 charges each doing 2D10 necrotic - so 6d10 necrotic (33 necrotic avg). This is not one of the better staves. It is good as a backup weapon for a mage however. Of the uncommon wands 3 don’t require atunement (secrets, magic detection & magic missile) while one (web) does. Further, of the 3 non atunement wands only magic missile has any combat utility. If I were the OP, I would be talking to the DM about finding (or purchasing) a wand of magic missiles for combat use.
Staffy goes wacky using both hands; Wands can go wacky too using 1 hand while the other can handle either a book, an arcane focus, or anything else.
If Wands dosen't goes wacky is due to WotC and their low Intelligence & Wisdom abilities.
Wands dont go wacky. Unless making an improvised weapon attack.
Using a wand as an improvised weapon uses strength. I don't know what you mean by "due to WotC".

But fools rarely differ.
If I haven’t offended you, don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll get to you eventually.
The few fools may often outweigh the wisdom of the many. (especially in dnd campaigns)
True, true.
If I haven’t offended you, don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll get to you eventually.
I mean, like, are you really going to flail around with a staff when you can cast cantrips?

Ok. Riddle me this: would you, both as a dnd character or in real life, be trapped in an antimagic field with a big stick or a little stick?
If I haven’t offended you, don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll get to you eventually.
BIG STICKKKKKKKK (I already got one) Staffs are so good.
Aye.

...
big stick, with a +2 attack modifier and 1d8-1 damage.
On the plus side, wands are smaller and easier to conceal.

Big stick doubles as a walking cane/ walking stick
um, so does literally any sturdy stick you can find outside.

Yes but therefore technically it can count as concealed.
what can count as concealed?
Besides, a wand is lighter. Helps prevent encumbrance.

True…
Shall we just agree to disagree then?
