I was wondering if the functionality currently exists to either edit a homebrew creation or use it as a template to create our own version of said homebrew. I’ve found some really cool monsters and items created by amazing users here on the DDB community that I love for the most part but would love to tweak in some way. If said functionality does not currently exist, how feasible would it be to add it, at least in the long term? Thanks so much for everything that you do and I hope you’re all having a great day!
Their working on it, but I honestly worry that people would just steal my ideas and not use the stuff I published.
I just want to be able to clone and modify my own stuff. Can we at least get that feature?
Also, couldn't they also follow the same rule as with the official stuff -- if it's not "different enough" from existing homebrew you can't publish it?

WOTC lies. We know that WOTC lies. WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. We know that WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. And still they lie.
Because of the above (a paraphrase from Orwell) I no longer post to the forums -- PM me if you need help or anything.
Why can I not delete my own creations once publicly posted? ???????
Because it could potentially disrupt other peoples character sheets or be used maliciously.
For example, someone might publish a homebrew (say even a copy of some first or third party content to incentivise people adding it to their character sheets) and then edit it to break those characters or contain offensive content.
Deleting your published content 100% breaks characters using that content, something the moderation team has to handle often.
For editing, you just need to publish a new version. The old version will still exist but it'll be relegated to the version history of your updated version. And if you think you might want to delete something in the future, don't publish it. You never need to publish anything

I agree that this would be a great feature
+1 for this.
In fact I was trying to figure out how to use an existing homebrew as a template and was frustrated at not being able to do so.

You can clone your own stuff. I have definitely made magic items based on other magic items I have made.

Hm... I guess I just did not see the option to do that.

When you go to make a Magic Item from an existing template, your own homebrews should be in the list.
