I can't believe this has been omitted from the Equipment section. Why is there no way to track gems, jewelry and art objects by their value? The only available method right now is to enter them under "Personal Possessions" or "Other Holdings." These should be trackable as treasure, alongside Currency.
I'd like like to bump this topic so a moderator or admin could respond. There are so many items in the DMG that could be added. paitings and statuettes....please add these items and their values
Gems have already been added to the equipment listings per their descriptions in the Dungeon Master's Guide. If you find a gem with a value that differs, you can override it's value from the customize menu
if i enter managa inventory and select gems i only get magical ones. I don;t see a way to inventory common gems. and that does nothing to help with common jewelery, rings, necklaces, hair pins all the stuff we find in random treasure. Wizards of the coast publishes this stuff why cant it be included in our inventory listings. I cannot be that difficult

This would be helpful. Especially since a 1,500gp Statuette is a component for contingency.

Adding every item that exists as a material component to the inventory database would cause some horrendous bloat to the listings of mundane gear, especially when you consider that the vast majority of these items are used for a single spell

I didn’t ask that every material component get added. But the art objects from the DMG (statuette, painting, etc.) would be handy for shoving in our bags of holding. And that one particular art object also happens to be a spell component that has a specific price listed, is not consumed, and must be carried on the character for an extended period of time after the casting. It wasn’t “that’s a spell component so it should be added.” It was “adding the art objects from the DMG would be appreciated, and that one would be doubly helpful because it also happens to be a spell component too.” (And again, one that must be carried by the caster on their person.)
What about the ability to create Homebrew mundane items? Or just having Art Object templates available to edit? I created an Art Object template to use, but had to create it as a Homebrew Magic Item. With at least a template, you can edit the name, gp value, weight, etc on the fly.
We are playing on Foundry and it is so easy to pull stuff over on your sheet. As the others mentioned adding stuff that the party is carrying and where can be important.
In situations of environmental hazards it would ne nice to know where those paintings, statues or spellbooks were. Did they lose some? Is the spellbook destroyed now?
Rollable loot tables from the DMG would be nice too.
So many things that make life easier for a DM. I hope these functionalities will be there once a virtual play space is revealed.
But to be honest things like working damage modifiers like extra fire damage on weapons, chaosbolt spell, booming blade etc. that actually work as intended are much higher on my list.
