It's all in the title really, but I'm still of course saying what in specific annoys me about the HB system on DDB.
You can't make fully custom weapons. The thing that most embodies my complaint is that I have to find a 'base weapon' whenever I make a new HB weapon. I can't just make one and add properties/dice as I see fit. If I'm wrong and not seeing an option that lets me do this tell me.
It's not an absolutely horrid flaw, just pretty annoying and I usually have to make a "close enough" weapon to what I want to make.
(I do realize that it could problematic in that people would just remake the weapons from the books themselves, but don't think that'll be too much of an issue as they already added custom classes and don't appear to be having that problem, although again if I'm wrong tell me.)
The regular weapons are all already free anyway, and homebrewing private versions of official content is absolutely okay to do. They were under a restriction in their contract with WotC (the company that actually makes D&D) that prevented them from allowing us to homebrew basic equipment. That restriction has been lifted and DDB is now currently in the process of a creation system overhaul that is supposedly planned to include homebrew base weapons. There is not ETA on when that will be ready however.

I hope that helps.
