I made a complete homebrew subclass, that is very different that circle of spores, yet it says it it too close to circle of spores! Can you look into that?
You have to re-save the entire Homebrew using the main [SAVE CHANGES] button under Basic Information. The system only checks those compliances when that main save is hit.
PS- As a personal tip, don’t publish your homebrew right away. If you publish it you can no longer edit anything on it without creating an entirely new version to overwrite the previous one.. While that’s not the biggest pain in the world, it does have some unintended consequences and it gets super annoying if you have to do it more than once. If you wait until all of your playtesting and editing is done then you can save yourself the hassle.
They've literally refused to. And said they were on it. Both responses were years ago.
It won't be fixed.

I don’t think they know how to without breaking something else. 🤷♂️
This is like 90 percent of why updates and fixes take forever - they don't want to break old character sheets or HBs so all their fixes have to preserve the old stuff.
I mean that's why the ranger chances came with such a big production - it WAS going to break peoples stuff.

Yeah, thing is, this bug isn't a bug. It didn't used to do this and was a deliberate, later, addition they made because they read some rules wrong. They can absolutely and without question be able to remove this validation (which is not any more complicated than an if statement) without affecting anything else.
Having been a codehead for.. wow, 25 years now.. I know what this entails. Many things are more difficult than people realise - this isn't one of them.

Yup, and so will fixing Magic Items to add actions. Half of those limited uses were set as charges that refresh on rests when they should be actions on rests or charges at dawn. They might have to break things to fix that. Like Ortho surgery.
When they accidentally broke Fighters this exact same way (for that nautical setting that shall not be named 🙄) they fixed that rather quickly. Why not this then?

This has gone from a big fix to a discussion on breaking D&D Beyond. LOL!
It won’t really “break” anything, people will just have to rejigger a few things is all. The biggest issue would be homebrew and if I have to redo something to fix it then whatever. But because of the way they do the different versions of homebrew that would suck for people who have already added it and blahblahblah. If they just forced errata/updates on homebrew the way they do for official stuff that would solve the problem. (Or if we could edit what we’ve already published.) That Ranger thing was a minor inconvenience at most. Many of the characters it affected probably never even saw play. It was so irrelevant most folks have either forgotten about it or never noticed. People would rather have these things fixed and be minority inconvenienced about it once than be constantly frustrated by it not working correctly.
Charges, magic items and actions and such are very different. Those are complicated and built into the architecture of those systems. So there's a lot as one small change affects many others in both the base code and the UI.
This "druid bug" is nothing like that. It's just a line of validation they added to check if there's a feature at level 3: yes, all good, no, generate the error. Given the generically put error message it's not even tailored to a specific error message, either, so it's even more basic.
When they added subclasses as a homebrew they put in validation to check if the subclass had the features "at the right levels". I'm going to state this is a later addition, and originally subclasses didn't have this validation at all. But they added it to make it more "official" despite being homebrew (kinda defeats the bloody point of homebrew, but whatever, I beat that dead horse enough). Druid subclasses were fine. Then a short time later, "the error" began to crop up. Nobody could understand why until a mod said it was this validation and that people needed to add a 3rd level feature. When questioned they said this was to align with the rules, and referred to the Circle of Lands as the basis. I did what I often did: I argued. Many times. Responses varied from "well this is staying" (albeit more politely put) to "we'll revisit this later, probably by 2019".
No matter how many times it was pointed out that Circle of Lands was the exception to the subclass feature progression, as evidenced by the Druid Table and other subclasses, they either refused to listen or just said they'll take a look later. And here we are, years later, and this still has not been fixed.
It's not fixed because : they're stubborn, don't agree with the PHB, don't give a shit, or any combination thereof.
It's a dev choice and has nothing to do with complexity.

As I understand it that was done something to do with it being the only free option available as a template. The free template had to be compliant, so compliances had to conform to the template.

That's the bullshit they spewed, yes. Which, was stupid given we're talking about homebrew which by nature shouldn't even need to confirm to any such restrictions at all - something even WotC fully agreed with - but yeah, it was a losing argument.
So, anyway, D&D Beyond have made it exceptionally clear this was a deliberate intentional choice and therefore isn't going to be "fixed" anytime soon (and most likely, never).

Ok thanks! BTW, that same subclass still says "Too much features at incorrect levels. Thanks you can give me advice on that as well?
It does have the same amount of features as Circle of Spores.
What class is it for? Druid?

Yep
There’s a glitch with Druids. Add a dummy feature at 3rd level.
