Perhaps you could describe what exactly it is you want done differently. Like, for a reminder that a weapon meets the prerequisites, do you want the weapons to have like a bright-red ! next to them to indicate "I could be your Hex Weapon!"? Because not every weapon can be your hex weapon, and I can think of a number of Hexblade players who'd find it irritating to have, say, a spare dagger in Equipment screaming ! at them just because they don't care to use it as a hex weapon.
But enough of me guessing wrong at what you're attempting to ask.
Edit2: Well, there's no helping some folks if they wanna just laugh at people's failed attempts to read their mind. I'm done.
thanks for letting me know, but DANG what kind of weak and sloppy interfacing is this that dndb set up?? It's on the level of r20 spaghetti code. why TF make that more obvious what needs to be done, or have a popup reminder for people who have the the prerequisites , but have not clicked the stupid box.
Considering that the Pact Weapon, Hex Weapon, and the Monk’s optional Dedicated Weapon all use the same function of
select weapon

Like… it’s two steps. The Time Warp, The Electric Slide, The Macarena, heck even the Chicken Dance each have more steps than that and drunk people can do them all the time.
Preparing a breakfast of toast and jam is a more complex, involved and lengthy process than designating your Hex Weapon. For crying out loud, consuming a breakfast of toast and jam is a more complex, involved and lengthy process than designating a Hex Weapon. The act of designating a Hex Weapon is so simple it makes the combined process of both making and eating toast and jam look downright Homeric by comparison.
Like… are you actually asking for invitation to use your own subclass features…?
I like that DDB doesn't "enforce" only 1 pact/hex weapon. It's convenient to have more than one weapon designated as Pact/Hex, that lets our campaign's Hexblade have one for each kind of weapon they like to make their Pact weapon be, and just equip/unequip whichever is the current form.

So for natural weapons like claws. How does one apply the Hex bonus? I'm using a minotaur and my Horns should be applicable for the hex warrior CHA stat. If someone could let me know how I can select Hex Warrior for my Horns that would be awesome!!! ^_^
I ended up creating a custom action and just gave the horns the CHA stat benefit. Seems to work fine. Pretty easy to do as well. Hopefully no other interactions make it weird. I think it'll be fine.
This is still an issue. A Flail being selected as a Hex weapon AND Pact weapon for Pact of the Blade used the STR modifier instead of the CHA modifier. I’m not sure why this hasn’t been addressed…
Yes, my character is proficient with this weapon as it is a martial weapon and it lacks the two handed property as well. What am I doing wrong?
omg, i saw my mistake right after posting to this thread. I had adjusted my ability selection and had forgotten to hit the "apply" button. So my CHA and STR had the same score of +1 *facepalm*
Here's the real humdinger: How can you implement a class feature in a homebrew subclass on DnDBeyond that does the same thing as the Hexblade's Hex Weapon?
-If you make a copy of the Hexblade to build off of, the option to select Hex Weapon to apply CHA bonus in place of DEX or STR will disappear if you rename the "Hex Warrior" feature to anything other than "Hex Warrior". The feature has to retain the same name in order to function on attack and damage listings.
This is still not fixed however. Do you have any workaround?
-There's no options in feature modifiers to directly replace attack/damage bonus ability modifier. (A way to do this could be to add "Set --> Melee Attack --> CHA" / "Set --> Melee Damage --> CHA" to the add modifiers options and include attack and damage choices for Melee, One-Handed, Two-handed, Swords, Ranged, Bows, Crossbows, etc...)
...
-It seems like the previous bug with Hexblades was fixed by just directly coding the feature by name, rather than by function. So the Hex Warrior feature can't be duplicated under a different name, nor can a similar feature by created from its concept in other classes
This is such a bizarre method of implementation - especially since it would seem like implementing it by function would be relatively easy. Obviously I can't see what the backend looks like, so I can't see how spaghettified it is - and if it's a real mess, okay, maybe not super easy to implement without breaking forty other things. But in theory it would not seem too hard to implement "correctly." (Scare quotes because I really don't like that term - but we can all understand what it means in this context.)

Hm? Who are you talking to, Sposta? I see no recent comment other than mine, and it's such a pleasant feeling ;)

That’s okay. All you’re missing is a personal attack which violates forum guidelines.

You just have to remember to not apply Hex weapon to anything else.

Are you sure you checked both boxes, one for the Pact Weapon and the other for the Hex Weapon?
If so, please post a link to your character sheet so someone can look into it for you.

Thank you though, Im dum smh
Is there a fix coming to designate the hex weapon and pact weapon from the app instead of going to the character sheet and back to the app?
This is still not fixed however. Do you have any workaround?
No, it must be named “Hex Warrior,” you cannot change it.
