My character just received the ability to cast summon beast but I cannot find bestial spirit in the extra tabs. Am I missing something. Also it's a once a day ability and doesn't reset on rests. How do i refresh it.
Several of the new features and spells present Monster Statblocks which scale with your character. This includes spells that summon other creatures. The system to handle these creatures is still under development but we have included inline stat blocks wherever possible to help you reference the stats you need.
So the statblock is going to be inline with the spell description. Is the ability to use it once a day homebrew? If so whoever made the homebrew will need to make sure the reset is set to 'long rest.' If not, is there a checkbox? If so, you'll just have to manually uncheck the checkbox.
Yes the stat block is in the spell but I would like it as an extra to keep track of hit points. Yes it's a homebrew since the character is a fighter, but the DM has it as a once a day, I could set it to long rest but thats not what I want. Why is there a per day setting if you can't reset it per day.
You can make a homebrew creature that uses the stats from the spell block at the different levels you'd be casting it at and put those in your extras so you can keep track.
Long Rest =/= a day. Since a day is (presumably) 24 hours, and a long rest is 8 hours there is no way for the system to know when the 24 hours have passed from when you used the ability. That is why most people use long rest because they are easier to keep track of. Otherwise, you'll have to manually keep track of the cool down. It's the same with things that reset at dawn/dusk. There is no way to know when that time has passed on beyond.
As was stated, 1 day ≠ Long Rest. To reset it at the end of your 24 hour cooldown, simply click/tap the little box again to “uncheck” it. The advantage to things resetting “once per day,” or “each dawn” is that, even if you couldn’t take your Long Rest, or if your rest was hours ago, you can still count on that magic item / ability to reset on its own without you having to rest. It can be clutch in certain situations.
I guess I wasn't clear in my question. I know the long rest thing. I want to just uncheck the spell when I want. There appears to me that the only way to do this is through a rest. Is there no way to just uncheck the spell?
If it’s being applied by a subclass feature then the little red square will appear under the name of the feature on the “Features & Traits” tab of the character sheet. If it is being applied by a magic item it will be a charge attached to the item on the “Inventory” tab of the character sheet.

"Bestial Spirit" means that you choose a "Small Beast" under "Summon" in the Extra tab. So for example a Giant Rat, or an Eagle.
Which class are you playing?
The spell "Summon Beast' gives the ability to summon a BESTIAL SPIRIT, with its own stats, not small beast.

Sure, simply uncheck the spell. The little red square 🟥, click/tap it and it will uncheck for you.

I don't see a red square on my spell list. only buttons I have are the "use" button.
How is this being applied, as a feature or by a Magic Item?

Nevermind I found it. The box is under the features tab. Thank you for the help.
