I leveled up a level 9 wizard and multiclassed one level into a homebrew Sorcerer subclass, and I still only have 4 1st level slots when I should have 6 now
That's not the way multiclassing works with primary spell casters. "Spell Slots. You determine your available spell slots by adding together all your levels in the bard, cleric, druid, sorcerer, and wizard classes" So basically because you are two full spellcasters your spell slots change as if you didn't multiclass at all. I'll link the rules to it here.
You do still get the number of known spells a level 1 Sorcerer gets though, so 4 new cantrips and 2 new 1st-level spells. That can still be worth the multiclass! But spell-slots don't stack that way.

Right, they stack a different way. If you look you’ll notice you have a second 5th-level spell slot, as if you were a 10th level Wizard.
