Hello team. I'm currently trying to create a homebrew feat that allows you to choose to "Increase your Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma score by 1, to a maximum of 20." (Similar to the Telekinetic feat.) Unfortunately, there isn't an option available in the dropdown list for all three of these ability modifiers. The closest choices available are "Choose Intelligence or Charisma" or "Choose Intelligence or Wisdom". Is this a known bug? Is there a workaround I could use to get my homebrew feat working? Thank you.
That Modifier Subtype doesn’t exist because feats like that don’t currently function properly. The workaround is the same one they use for the official feats, namely to create a different version of the feat for each of those ability scores.
I don’t know about the feat itself and how to tinker with it, but as a workaround for the ability increase you can always click on the ability and add the +1 to “other modifier”, which increases the overall score for the input. (Or, alternatively, below that box is the one for override score, but I’d say the previous option is better.)

Thanks for the response! That seems very strange, because there are other options in the dropdown list with three, four, or even five choices - it's just the one I want that's missing. I'm not really sure why some combinations are in the dropdown list, and why some aren't; it's why I thought this issue was perhaps just an oversight. It sounds like that's not the case, though...?

Thanks for your suggestion! Currently I've put "Choose Dexterity, Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma" as the feat option, with the Details as "Increase your Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma score by 1, to a maximum of 20." It's workable as a feat, but not exactly correct.

Any feat that would use that Modifier Subtype would also require Feats be able to do other things that Feats currently cannot do such as grant spells as part of Options. (Currently Feats can only grant Actions as part of Options.) Since they have to create separate versions of each of those feats anyway, each keyed to a specific Ability Score, there’s no need for them to add that Modifier Subtype to the system for their own internal use. And since nothing else would make use of that Subtype, they have no need to enter it as an option. Remember, the so-called “homebrewer” isn’t really a homebrewer at all, it’s the same system they use to make the official stuff, so that’s all it’s been programmed to do, and not even all of that yet.

Sorry, I'm not sure I understand. The feat I'm trying to create merely lets you gain one ability modifier point from one of three options. If the Telekinetic feat works (I haven't purchased this feat, so I don't have any way to test this), and the homebrew system is indeed the "same system they use to make the official stuff", then it should be possible to select "Choose Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma" in the Modifer Subtype dropdown box. Especially since there are so many other options available to select. I sincerely appreciate your explanations, but given what's there now, I legitimately do not understand why the option I need is missing.
The Telekinetic feat doesn’t work, that’s what by it was broken down into the “Telekinetic (Charisma),” “Telekinetic (Intelligence),” and the ”Telekinetic (Wisdom)” feats in DDB’s system.

I think this is the biggest part of what I'm finding confusing. I haven't purchased any feats, so I don't know what you mean by "it was broken down"; I assume they're essentially treated as entirely different and separate feats? If so, why? If I create a test homebrew feat, anything with a provided "Choose between" ASI option in the dropdown list works perfectly fine. Creating a test character and giving them this homebrew feat means I can easily select an ASI. It just works. I've actually gone through the entire dropdown list and all the options just work. I can only assume that what makes the Telekenetic feat not work is the fact that it's a feat that gives you access to spells? Because if so, I'm not actually trying to do that; I'm just trying to give my players the option to "Increase your Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma score by 1, to a maximum of 20." What I'm trying to confirm as a "bug" is that the dropdown list isn't currently providing "Choose Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma" as an option. When I said "like the Telekenetic feat" I meant in terms of the ability modifiers, not in terms of spell access. Does that make sense?
Yes, they were created as totally separate feats because they have no way to create the option for which Ability score the spell uses. As such, they created a set of three completely individual feats each keyed to one of the three spellcasting Abilities: Charisma, Intelligence, and Wisdom. Since they had to be implemented as three completely separate feats, they Developers have no need of a Modifier Subtype that contains those three options. Since they don’t need it, they never programmed it. Since they never programmed it, it is unavailable for us to use. You will have to make three separate feats, one named “[Feat Name] (Charisma),” one named “[Feat Name] (Intelligence),” and one named “[Feat Name] (Wisdom).”
🤦♂️ Because the Developers needed the option to “Choose Dexterity, Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma” at some point, but they have thus far never needed “Choose Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma." They only implement what they need or expect to need.
It's for Elven Accuracy, which increases one of those scores by one, but doesn't grant any spells. So all they needed the feat to do on the back end, that isn't just a textual output, is 'increase one of these 4 scores by 1' instead of 'increase one of these 3 scores by 1 and grant access to spell N using the score selected as the casting stat.'
