Hey, I'm currently trying to add patron spells to a warlock subclass and I can't seem to get them to add to just the "Add Spells" section of the character sheet. I've tried a couple different things including adding the spells individually or as one entry and with all the iterations of the "Consumes Spell Slot", "Counts As Known Spell" and "Always Prepared" drop down lists. This seems to either include them as known spells without an option to remove them or not at all. Any help on what I'm doing wrong would be amazing!
Yeah the spell system for the homebrew subclass feature is a bit messed up.

Devious serpent folk devoid of compassion, yuan-ti manipulate other creatures by arousing their doubts, evoking their fears, and elevating and crushing their hopes. From remote temples in jungles, swamps, and deserts, the yuan-ti plot to supplant and dominate all other races and to make themselves gods.
I wouldn't say it is messed up. Just that there are some features that are not available yet. An example is adding a limited use feature based off the Wisdom modifier. Hartless has said that this ability will be available after the release of the character sheet revamp. I assume that adding spells to a spell list will also be a part of that. Using a warlock subclass as a template shows the expanded spell list information but does not actually add the spells to those available which makes me think there is a different way to add them that we aren't able to yet.
Also struggling with this. Unfortunately being a standard of the Warlock subclass design we're a little SOL for making Warlock subclasses, but hopefully it will be fixed soon!
Yep, I've been fiddling with it and it really doesn't work. It's possible to finagle cleric domain spells into basically working, but I can't figure out expanding the warlock spell list.
Expanded spell lists are a function of the actual spells, not the subclass. You can add a spell to a expanded spell list for a subclass (like Warlock - The Hexblade) by tagging that spell for that subclass (You have to make a homebrew copy of that spell to edit the tags, if it's an official spell).
However the one issue is that Homebrew subclasses do not show up as a possible tag in the "AVAILABLE FOR CLASS(ES)" box when creating Homebrew spells. So we have to wait till the Homebrew spells interface is updated to include Homebrew subclasses as possible tags.
We're going to be updating the method for adding to expanded spell lists from the spell form and from the subclass form. Should have that available in a week or two.
Having his issue as well. Not only with patron option but also when choosing pact of the tome and Book of Ancient secretes invocation. I get the can trips for the pact but not the 2 initial ritual spells.
Also curiose how do we had spells to this book. It is not like the wizard.

Those are Pact Boon (for Pact of the Tomb) and Eldritch Invocation (for Book of Ancient secrets) related. Both of them are connected to the Warlock class and not any Warlock subclass you make (a Warlock's subclass is their Patron). They should work normally no matter if you have a Homebrew Subclass, an Official Subclass, or even if you just don't pick a subclass at all. They are handled completely separately.
I still can make an expanded spell list for a warlock its not working. I tried adding the Banishing Smite spell to the warlock list and it is not showing up. What should I do?

To ensure you are adding it properly, does the area you're entering it into look like this? Of course with different spells.
Hey all I’m at a loss. I can’t find a few spells for my Lock. Hand of Hadar. And wrathful smite. They just don’t appear anywhere that I’ve looked. Can someone help? I play Monday.
Have you purchased the PHB here, or the PHB spells? Neither of those spells are in the Basic Rules, SRD, or Elemental Evil Players Companion, so they aren’t available for free. You either need to purchase them or bei in a campaign in which some has a Master Tier subscription that they’ve used to turn on content sharing. Someone in that campaign also needs to have purchased the PHB or al least the spells you need.
Note: you can purchase just those two spells if you don’t want to spend more. Or, if you have a print copy of the PHB, you can even homebrew them. If you purchase the spells, the cost of the full PHB (and the PHB spell bundle) are deuces by the amount you spend.

Edit: Just got a reply from the staff
That's great to hear, Noskills117. Thanks for sharing the response!
