Just wanted to put this out there in case someone else runs into the same issue...
My son has a Google account which I supervise using Google family link. I helped him sign up with dndbeyond.com using his Google account and even purchase sourcebooks and a subscription for him. He recently mentioned that he cannot log into dndbeyond.com using his Google account. I don't know when it started, but for whatever reason Google isn't allowing logins to dndbeyond.com with what it considers a child account. We were able to sign up and log into dndbeyond.com with this account previously. It's anyone's guess if/when Google changes their mind about allowing such logins, so my suggestion is not to use Google logins if you can help it.
I'm not aware that Google (gmail.com) has a hide my email function, but I don't think so. We were not using private browsing mode either. I reached out to Wizards support in hopes of gaining access to dndbeyond.com and to change to a different Google account. Their response simply stated that they can't do anything about the Google login. They neglected to address that we're now locked out of a subscription that just renewed and don't have access to digital items that we've already paid for.
Fortunately, my son is at the age where I can remove supervision without having to delete his Google account. (Google in their infinite wisdom decided that if you're under a certain age, removing supervision would delete your account entirely.) Once removed, I took over the Google account and changed the birthdate (can't do this when it's under supervision which is stupid). I was then able to log into dndbeyond.com with the now non-child Google account.
Thanks for posting this, I am having the same problem with my son's Google family account and trying to log in to D&D beyond. It asks for my sign-in then insists he can only use a school google account, which he doesn't have. How did you remove supervision without deleting the account? I just removed his but it seemed to delete it so I had to restore it again, which thankfully I found I could do.
I just went through the verification process and created my kiddo a wizards of the coast account and linked Google in that way so she had access to her stuff
This way does require ID verification of the adult creating the account and it takes 24-48hrs after verification for it to be set up but worth it to not remove my 11yo restrictions

Did your son accidentally use the “hide my email” function?
Are they accidentally using the browser in “private” mode?
Either of these things might be causing the issue.

Weird. At least you got it working.
