So I am currently cooking up some homebrew races for a campaign and I was receiving tons of internal service errors when trying to access public homebrew races. I decided to create my own anyway, and in doing so I created a race with three subraces. However, now I cannot access the parent race and receive the 500 Internal Service Beholder error. I can access all of the sub races, and can use the race (and the sub race) in a character.
I have tried refreshing the page, hard refreshing the page, and manually clearing my cache and cookies to no avail. Is there something I have missed?
Thank you for your help! Your FAQ is wonderful. Is there a reason for this? It seems sort of odd to me that you can't view the parent race. I was planning on putting lore and such under the parent race, but I won't be doing that if it is unable to be viewed.
I've ran into a similar issue now, when searching for Homebrew races/species in dnd beyond public homebrew section some of these hombrew return a 500 internal server error
likewise when viewing my own creations this happens to the main races/species but subraces/subspecies can be view, if i try to the parent race/species link that would lead to the main race/species details page, it returns to me another 500 internal server error
noted this problem dosent happen to the subraces/subspecies of a homebrew race/species or races/species that dont have a subrace/species, those the detail page can be view (at least in the testing i been able to conduct thus far)
this allows you only to see the specific sub's traits and not the ones of the main race/species
P.S To be noted as well, i tried over different browsers, cleared cache on all, disabled every extension i had, sent the link to others, etc all to keep receiving the same "500 internal server error" and see that zombie beholder.
i have made and remade a hombrew race/species a few times over the last few days to make sure it wasen't it having or not having images, or it being or not being published etc. but the problem persists all the same
Same issue here as well. I first noticed it when I undeleted an old homebrew race that had subraces. I could view the details page of each subrace but not the parent race. At first I thought it was an issue with having undeleted the race/subraces and/or not properly adding them back to my collection.
I created a race with a subrace and the same issue persists. I can view the subrace details page but not the parent race.
I created a race with no subraces and I can view that detail page fine.
Hmm. Maybe the cause is due to their tinkering in prep for the 2024 rulebooks.

There’s no way to make homebrew “race groups” is why.
Same thing here for me as well. I re-created a Race that has sub-races and was able to use it / view it UNTIL I published the race (and sub-races) to which I get the Internal Error. All that toil for nothing!

That's interesting, because I am having the issue with unpublished races with subraces. I have a bunch of homebrew, but I've never published any of them, and I can no longer view the Details Page of the parent race (the subrace Details Pages are fine).
I am having the same issue both in the homebrew public collection and personal homebrew I made. I can see the subraces but its super frustrating. I'm just trying to put the subraces from the planeshift guide to Amonkhet in

the same thing happened to me. I don't know what is going on.
I don’t know about the zombie beholders, but as for the race/subrace thing, please see the Homebrew Subclasses & Species FAQ, question #5: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/131411-a-homebrewers-how-to-faq#HomebrewSubclasses&SpeciesFAQ).
