Was working a new character in the character builder for a Monk with the Way of the Ascendant Dragon (FToD) subclass. At level 3, you obtain Breath of the Dragon, which according to the source material
"... Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw against your Focus save DC, taking damage of the chosen type equal to two rolls of your Martial Arts die on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one."
Under the 2024 PHB rules, the martial arts die progression has been updated from the previous version (e.g. at level 3, 1d4 -> 1d6) but the character builder is incorrectly associating the damage the action to the old progression table (i.e. 2d4 instead of 2d6).
I tried to toggle the characters source material preferences to disable/enable Legacy rules, but that didn't fix it.
If there is a better mechanism to supply the development team with bugs, please point me in the right direction, or if I'm misunderstanding the source material, please set me straight
This is the best mechanism to hang a lantern on a big.
The thing is, that subclass is a “legacy” subclass, which only works with the “legacy” version of the monk, and the bigger die size is tied to the “core rules” version of the monk.
