I got a shipping notification earlier today and a charge went through days ago but just now at almost 3am, I get an email saying it's been cancelled because payment failed to process. The tracking info says it's been shipped out already and I'll have it by Thursday...so...I have no idea what's going on about the payments. I made sure to even update my info incase that helped smooth out the process this time. I guess whatever is going on now might be an auto email thing while they sort it out on their end.
Same for me. I think it's just a glitch. When I filter my orders, everything is as it should be. And my DMG already shipped, it's en route and scheduled for delivery tomorrow. I have a FedEx tracking number.
This happened to me as well. I had bought the bundle with all three core books and the digital copies. I didnt have this issue with the PHB. How do I reorder it at the correct price?
I received a payment failed and order cancelled emails. However, PayPal says money was paid and I have a FedEx tracking number with it showing it is on the way. I’m going to assume at this time it’s just an e-mail glitch.
Just got the same message. 3 different emails. First one earlier today saying it's shipped, with a Fedex tracking label. Now 2 more saying the order is cancelled and the payment failed (even though my bank shows it went through). Viewing the order status online also shows the order status as "Shipped".
It's hard for me to know for sure, but I believe the ones saying the order has failed are a phishing attempt, trying to steal info though people clicking links. The sender email is "test@dndbeyond.com" while the usual ones say "orders@dndbeyond.com". Hovering over any of my previous legitimate emails show they go to "linkst.dndbeyondcom/click/...", while these scam ones seem to go to "cb.sailthru.com/click/..." and I'm not risking clicking on them. Both the scam and legitimate emails say "Mailed by: mx.sailthru.com". When looking up details on Sailthru, they seem to be a legitimate tool/service for companies to distribute these types of emails to customers, and DnD Beyond does use them. But according to results I find online, scammers can use the service too.
For all I know though, this could be simply explained as a bad email template (they have the correct domain in the sender email after all, something that's hard to fake as far as I'm aware), and these are legitimate (but incorrect) emails that were caused by a hiccup in their system. In the end, if you have a tracking number and the site says your order has already shipped, your probably fine. Don't go clicking on any links of emails your skeptical about.
It's getting sadly comical as I got emails again today for my ORIGINAL order telling me that it's cancelled, but the replacement order shows "Preparing to ship".
Thank you for this comment. I was about to get super angry that like the Players Handbook, my order was canceled and i'd have to pay additional fees to get another replacement. I checked i do have a tracking number, but at time of writing this it says its in New Berlin, WI. Fingers crossed this one gets to me. And thank you for notifying people this might be a phising scam.
Hahaha yep. Here too. DMG is already on the way, today I got cancelation emails. So I can't wait to wait another 2 months for a customer service ticket reply of "Oops, sorry". I just hope my MM is still going to arrive
Update: My order history in the marketplace only has orders from the Halloween sale and nothing before that. No preorders, not the books I bought outside of the preorders in June. Digital licenses are still intact and I can still see my bonuses, but for how long? And this was just a regular debit card purchase, not a paypal. Man they're so bad at this.
Just adding to the list. I got a cancellation email today too. I had no issues with the PHB, plenty of money left on my credit card, and I actually have two pending WotC payments of $41.20 each. I don't know if this was an error that they tried to correct by accidentally nuking my entire order. The bundle doesn't show up in my order history at all. My physical book should be arriving tomorrow from FedEx, and I still currently show the DMG in my DnDBeyond digital library, so I dunno. I submitted a ticket. I'm mainly worried about this affecting my MM order.
I am in the same position. Seeing that it took two months for my last ticket to be resolved, I submitted one immediately. Here's to hoping that it's resolved before the New Year!
If you received an email from test@dndbeyond.com, I would disregard it. The team is investigating why these were sent out.
The order status shown on your order history (link shows orders in the last 3 months) should be the correct status. If your order is genuinely cancelled, you should expect a followup email from orders@dndbeyond.com some time today.

Wonderful, thanks for the information and the quick reply!
Got an email yesterday saying my DMG order was cancelled (got my PHB no problems). The charge is still pending in my credit card at my bank (had no issues with my card with the PHB and it hasn't changed since). Sounds like they are still having issues with the orders :/. Submitting ticket thru their horrible customer service system now... Wish they had a phone number to call.
I got cancellation notices from the test and orders email addresses and its showing as cancelled in my order history. Hopefully i get that email later today but I will also still submit a ticket. Thanks for the info.

Not this crap again! Got that email and opening a support ticket. Seriously, can’t these people learn from the PHB fiasco? Apparently not.

I've played every edition since 1980.
I’m old. 😂

Update from the Discord. They're aware. We'll know more later today.

@sillvva can you explain why mine shows all three physical books as Order Placed?
I have yet to receive the Player Handbook. (And as of now, I went out and bought one, so I do not want the one from WotC)
