So I'm a fairly recent adopter of this service, and while I've found it breathtakingly easy to use in most cases, I'm finding myself stymied on leveling characters and managing their HP.
The house rule at our table is that we take max HP for the first three levels and then average HP after that. But I don't actually see a way to input HP per level, and I'm finding the whole HP system a bit confusing. Can someone walk me through setting HP per level?
On a related note, I'm not sure if this system has a 'level up' button, but I'd love to know if it does. I found a system for scrolling through levels, but nothing to adjust levels one at a time. I'd love some clarity on how leveling works in the system.
You can toggle HP to manual in character settings, then input how much HP you should have in manage hp (CON is added automatically).
They can't really just add a "level up" button because you could choose to multiclass. I haven't heard complaints about the class levels being a drop down before. I think you'll get used to it.
In terms of leveling: there’s a “Manage levels” option if you click on the character’s name.
In terms of HP, you need the “manual” option, but you’ll need to do the math/keep track on paper or some kind of notes file. When using manual HP, you enter the total HP rolled (or generated in another way), but NOT any CON additions (or subtractions). Unfortunately, there is not currently a way to enter an amount for each level. A number of us have requested that it be possible to have fields in which to enter the number rolled (or generated) for each level individually, but this is not currently an option,.
Well, personally I'd integrate the option to multiclass into the leveling system (alongside spell selection and other leveling options), but that's neither here nor there.
I do love how well connected everything is. It's made rebuilding characters a breeze, this kerfuffle aside. I think I'll get my head around it, it's just a departure from what I'm used to.

Thanks in advance, sorry for the new questions :)

It’s there: scroll to the bottom of that page and you will find “Add a Class”

I think they know. That was in direct reply to my earlier comment.
What I don't understand is why there's a separate note for "Fixed" and "Average" HP when they should be the same?
Not quite. The “fixed HP” is slightly above average.
