I'm starting to bring in homebrew items into my campaign, and I'm having some difficulties adding one of them in. This item was created by u/griff-mac who runs r/TheGriffonsSaddlebag. Here's the item:
Spellwoven Robes Wondrous item, uncommon
These robes are unique to the wearer and are spun from special, magic-sensitive threads. While wearing these robes, you gain an additional way to calculate your AC. Your AC equals 10 + your spellcasting ability modifier. Whenever you cast a spell of first level or higher, you can also change the apparent style, color, and apparent material of the robe. Regardless of its appearance, it is always a robe and its weight remains the same. Glowing, arcane glyphs appear on the robe's fabric when you cast a spell before fading away a moment later.
Now, here's what I've tried:
Bonus>Armor Class>INT which just added Int modifier on top of Dex
Set>Armor>INT which causes things to go crazy
Set>AC Max Dex Modifier>0 as max Dex bonus which also confuses the system
Hey guys, I know it's been a year since this post was made, but I have also just stumbled upon Griffon's work, and have started using the items he creates. I have cracked the Spellwoven Robes! You will have to make a seperate robe for each applicable spellcasting modifier (e.g. Charisma / Intelligence) if you plan on making it an attunable item like I did. The following modifiers should work as the item describes;
Set - Unarmored Armor Class - INT
Set - AC Max Dex Unarmored Modifier - 0 (Fixed Value)
Voila! The item replaces the dex modifier with the int modifier. Hope it helped, even after a year!

That will get you to 10+INT which get's you what you want. If you want to make some kind of magical armor (for like 11+INT or more), you'll need to add 1 more modifier in there. This thread I made can walk you through it because that 3rd modifier can be a bit confusing.

Any help?
Try set - unarmored armor class - INT. Robe of the archmagi is like this (except fixed value instead of modifier).
