I've just finished making a homebrew race and it's not appearing as an option on my character creation.
I've ensured that homebrew content is enabled, my cache has been reset, I've removed the race (and subraces) from my collection, refreshed the page, went to homebrew content and re-added it to my collection (twice).
It's still not appearing. Is there a reason why this is occurring?
The only thing I can think of is that its still on private, however, other things I've homebrewed are also private and they're still available, so I doubt that's actually the issue.
I am having this same problem, no subraces, removed and added from collection multiple times, homebrew content enabled... but my homebrew race still won't appear in the list of options for my character creation. Extremely frustrating!
Hello there! I am able to see your race in the character builder. Would you be able to share a link to one of your characters that you're trying to add this race to? You can select any other race in the meantime. :)
It's on my Collection page, and the race page itself says "remove from collection."
Yet, when I make a character (With Homebrew turned on) the race does not appear. Help! Thanks!
Your race is currently marked as "Will Have Subraces". When this is marked, only subraces will be appear in the builder. As there are no subraces on your race, that means it will not appear. You can uncheck that box and save, and that should help you out! :D

Really? Because I'm seeing races without subraces like dragonborn and goliath. I also don't see where to uncheck "Will Have Subraces."

Sorry, I'm really trying, but I don't see where to uncheck that box. Is that only available to the creator of the race?
I'm looking at Creations -> My Homebrew Collection -> Satyr. I've looked all over that page and there's no checkbox. Even did a ctrl+f to find that phrase.
Did you click the “Edit” button to get to the Edit page? If so, it should be near the bottom of the “Basic Information” section (you have to click the + by Basic Information to expand it)
If you still don’t see it, do you see an “is Variant” checkbox? If yes, did you use another race or subrace as a template? If so, which one?

Yes, my apologies, I misunderstood that you were the race's creator. The race's creator would need to correct that error in order for the race to be usable in the character sheet.
Hi, I don't know if my question will get answered since this thread has been silent for a while, but here it goes. I created a homebrew race called the Daemon. It has 5 subraces. Earlier I was able to make a character with each subrace. I did so to test that my coding was correct for the various features. Now, my friend (who is a player in my game) is trying to make a character with one of the subraces. They're not showing up on her page. My home-brew still isn't published as it's a work in progress, but that shouldn't affect anything. It didn't before. I went and tried to make another character with a Daemon Heritage, just to test and see. It's no longer an option for me either. We both made sure to select "allow homebrew," too, so I don't know what else to do at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Wondering if there is any change to this. I'm working on shifting some things from a third party campaign, and created the Ghoul Race from Cthulu Mythos, but only the Subraces are showing up, not the parent race. The box with will have subraces is checked, I created the subraces, now all the subraces are showing up by themselves and the base Ghoul race isn't. Super frustrated.

If you mean that the parent race isn't appearing in the character builder, that's the way it works. The reason for this is that if a race has subraces, one can only choose the subrace, not the parent race by itself. For official races with sub races (like elf), they created race groupings to organize the subraces. But you still can't choose just "elf." The "elf" entry is really just a folder of all the elf subraces.
They haven't implemented "race groups" for homebrew parent races yet. I don't think it's a very high priority. The usual suggestion is to name your subraces with the parent race name first, so they all appear together in the list.
I have a question for you then, since I'm having the same proble,.
My players can only select the subraces as well. But the parent race has selectable options. How can my player still receive these and other bonusses from the parent race?

Once they choose the subrace then they should be able to make those choices.

Hello drakknjath! Sorry to hear about the problem you're facing with using your homebrew subrace.
Is the race marked as "Has subraces"? If it is, does it have any subraces added in the section at the end of the main edit page for the homebrew?
If that doesn't help, please post a link to your unpublished homebrew. Myself or another moderator will be able to take a closer look.

Please post a link to the homebrew in question so a moderator can take a look.

I seem to be having this issue as well. I'm trying to use the race: https://www.dndbeyond.com/races/3487-satyr

Thanks in advance.
They are upgrading the homebrewer for us, there will be some... “hiccups.” You know, like Jurassic Park....
