I've been trying to insert one of my own images for a campaign I've started and I have no idea how to insert personal images or find a thread about it.

So, "source" is the URL? But what happens if the image doesn't appear? Should we 'constrain proportions'? Is there a maximum size? The reason I ask is that I can't get an image (even one I've hosted on an external site) to appear in the notes.
Edit: Nevermind! Figured it out! I wasn't using the right link.
When you insert the url, it should add the size to it, where were you trying to get the image from?
I was trying to get the images from images I uploaded to imgur, but I wasn't using the right URL. While it does not automatically add the sizes when uploading, it enabled me to shrink the images down by specifying a width and constraining proportions, which was helpful.
No matter what I do I can't seem to get this to work, I am linking from Imgur and Google Photos and trying all variations of inputs on sizes etc and each time I do it, it just shows as a broken image and doesn't show up. Can anyone assist me on this please? The images are in .jpg format.

Just to make sure we are all talking of the same thing, to make it work right you have to use a direct image URL, NOT the link One that would work looks like this: https://i.ibb.co/YLQGFNP/image.png

I'm new to using this format and have a few questions about images. I've figured out how to add url links which take you from a tread to an outside website. However, I cannot help but notice that many treads have images that are displayed within the ongoing thread - not redirecting you via an url. How does this work? redirecting to an url breaks the flow of a read, you know?

Apply the explanation I gave above (using a direct link to the image) to the "insert image" option at the top of your writing window (go landscape if you are on mobile and you'll see it, is to the left of the "YouTube" icon for embedding videos)
For anyone doing this from Google Photos, I had to use a link extraction utility to find the PROPER link to embed inside my DnDBeyond edits. Here's what I did:
Upload the image to Google Photos.
Open the image in preview and then in the right hand corner, click on the Share icon.
This will open a dialog, at the bottom, select Create Link

Does the link with the image end in the file picture type... i.e... .jpg or .gif etc.?
I am having trouble with this too. I don't want to make an imgur account. can't I use google or onedrive or something? its very frustrating.
You can use pretty much any image hosting site you like!
All you need to be able to do is have the image somewhere on the internet that other people can see it when you link it.

Got it.
1) Right click on image.
2) "Copy image address"
Why didn't someone just say that in the first place?
SO I have added an image however it is coming up super dark... What should i do?
Disregard that last comment about it being super dark it was just highlighted!
Thank you!!!
Testing a link share from dropbox
Nope. The insert image button does not work for me despite the html showing it is the image source.

You will need a link that ends with an image extension, such as .jpg, .png, or .gif.
The dropbox link does end in .png and is shared out to anyone who has the link. Imgur does work.
