Hello kiiile, thank you for your post! Currently only the first damage dice are able to appear directly on the sheet for spells. When you click on the spell, a sidebar opens showing the full details. When you look at casting the spell using a higher level spell slot, you should see the increased number of d6s in the list of damage from the spell under the "Cast" and "Level" buttons:
This issue is now a problem for the new dice rolling feature - When you click to roll the dice, it only rolls the 2d8 and not the 1d6. That means you cannot use the dice feature with this spell
Digital dice are still in active development (they've only just entered beta) and as such, some of the 'smarter' features such as additional dice for spells like Chaos Bolt haven't been implemented yet. This isn't a bug, it's a feature in progress.
It's not just about the Dice roller tho. Even if you disable the dice the Damage itself is shown as 1d8, instead of 1d8 + 1d6, which is the damage starting with level 1 isn't it?
2d8 + 1d6. That’s the root cause - The character sheet only shows the first dice type unless you click on the detail, and the dice roller uses that summary value rather than the underlying value
I noticed with my sorcerer characters who use chaos bolt that the damage was low, on further investigation it doesn’t roll any d6 for that spell at any level.
Chaos Bolt should do 2D8 plus 1D6 damage, however when rolling on DnD beyond it only ever does 2D8 damage In addition using it at higher levels adds an extra D6 of damage but DnD beyond does not apply this.
I'm sure this must be reported already but forum search seems broken.
Chaos Bolt is supposed to do 2d8+1d6 damage but on the character sheet it only shows up as 2d8.
When Chaos Bolt is cast at higher levels it's supposed to do an extra d6 for each level above 1. Those extra d6's don't show up either.
Thank you!

I hope that helps!

Yep, understand that. Hence the feedback that it’s something to be addressed as part of beta if it’s not already :)

this holds true both on the website and app.
This is a known limitation of the software, the developers are working on it.

The spell is doing 2 things from the character sheet [cast] as well as the [dmg roll] buttons from the sheet.
1. It is not rolling 2d8 +1d6 for damage as listed in the spell. It only rolls 2d8
2. 1 of the d8's is supposed to be used to select the dmg type. This also is not happening.
Smart dice features such as additional dice types (the d6) and also secondary features such as selecting damage type haven't been implemented yet.

Thanks for the fast response. New to the online format. Is there a place for release notes/feature update timelines?

It is a known software limitation. The d6s have to be rolled separately.

Hello?
Also any news on support for rerolling dice functionality for us Empowered Mage sorcerers and etc?
There hasn't been any update to this feature. If there was, it'd be announced in the Dev stream and change log
