how do I get back to the edit page? I can not seem to find it.
I know I added it, but ???
If it is published, you can no longer edit it. You will have to “create new version,” edit that, “remove from collection” the old version, and then publish the new one. (If you are not the original publisher, then they have to do that and you will then have to “remove from collection” the old one and “add” the new one.) Then you will have to change the race of the character to the new updated race.
Why can't they allow you to just edit it..? Seems like alot of work to make small changes... ugh, and I hate that it now says Copy of Tabaxi, Large,... instead of just Tabaxi, Large.

Once something is published it is locked in stone. It can no longer be edited, only replaced. You can change the name from “Copy_of_whatever” when you make the other changes. JUST DON’T PUBLISH until all changes are made. As long as the old one is no longer in “your collection” and the new one is you can still use the new one and continue to edit it until it’s perfect before republishing it.

That’s why my #1 piece of advice is “DON’T PUBLISH!!!” Once you get the hang of stuff publishing is not a problem, but until then... better of waiting. Since you and your friends can use it even when it’s not published it’s no big deal. That gives you time to playtest and edit until it is perfect before you publish it.
Here is another question.. is there a way to make custom weapons that will add on your character sheet with the attack display? I want to add a Tail Spike (1d3) Light Finese weapon. But I have not been able to get the custom stuff to add as a weapon. I have edited other weapons like a long sword into a Maulaxe... and Longsword into swordcane.
But can't make a totally new weapon, any help would be appreciated.
Also, wanted to add a Garrotte, but again same problem.

The reason that you can't edit published homebrew is that it could cause unwanted changes on other users character sheets, even going so far as breaking them.
If you copied using the 'Create a New Version' option, the name shouldn't be COPY_OF_, you should instead just have an unpublished duplicate in your creations. If you then make your edits and publish that, it'll 'replace' the old version; everyone who's added the old version will still have access to it, but the updated version is what people will see when browsing.

Nope. We cannot do any “new” weapons, nor can we make non-magical items yet. Supposed to be soonish though. Also, a tail spike would be more of a feat/race/subclass feature. You can just make a natural weapon attached to one of those. You cannot make it Light, or Finesse but you can just set it to use Dex and “light” won’t matter because you’re not “holding” it anyway. Smallest you can go on the die is 1d4 though. In D&D a “d3” means “1d6 divided by 2 rounded up” so it’s not actually an available die type.
Or you can just create a “tail spike” as a custom action directly on the character sheet (1d4, piercing (or poison) Dex, 10-foot reach, proficient, display as attack).
I have added it as a custom item but it can not show as a weapon no big deal, I will be fine... just love making the character sheet as close to perfect (all the correct information from a hand written sheet)....
Happy to help. And if you made it as an natural Weapon Action attached as a racial or subclass feature then it will even populate the Action Field so it will look like any other Attack.
I rather have it in the right column, but yes, I am fine with it... more don't like that it didn't show up from the edit where I thought it would properly display. :D
What edit exactly? If you made it as a race/class feature with an “Action” and you set it as a weapon attack, Natural Weapon, Proficient ✅, Str/Dx (whichever you picked) and set the damage “Die Count” and “Die Type” and “Display as Attack” it should look just like Tabaxi Claws on the character sheet (with whatever differences to damage type and die size)

Strange how I did the edit but they dont show the weapon Damage in that column, so I added it to the notes section.. and again, thanks
It should show the damage in that column. But as long as you’re happy with it. Glad I could help.

The only thing missing is I left the Die Count as nil... do I need to put a '1' in the space?
Yup. Otherwise it does “0dX” damage and is left blank.
