Running a campaign one of my players, while choosing spells for her now-3rd-level Druid, commented that there were some 1st-level spells that she hadn’t recalled seeing before (for example: Beast Bond).
She also sees the 2nd-level spell Summon Bestial Spirit (UA). All of the “sources” preferences for the character are turned off (which I would have thought.
I only own and am sharing the PHB, DMG, and MM. I recently joined a campaign (as a player) that shares other content with me, though I don’t think that should be relevant… we’re not seeing spells from other sourcebooks in that campaign (such as Xanathar’s) show up. Just EE & UA, neither of which are listed as sourcebooks on Beyond.
Best we can recall, none of these spells were visible a month ago, so something must have changed. Just uncertain if it was on my end somehow or something else.
I found & downloaded an Elemental Evil PDF from DM’s Guild and started looking at what it has, and also looked more closely at what exists in Xanathar’s spell list for Druids also. Apparently I was (in a sense) incorrect in saying that nothing from Xanathar’s was showing on her sheet, since it seems like everything in EE is also part of Xanathar’s.
Two additional observations.
Beyond shows “Beast Bond” as being from EE, pg. 150. That’s the correct page for the spell in XGtE, but not in EE (which doesn’t have nearly that many pages)
Spells that exist in XGtE but not EE (such as Infestation) do not appear in her spell list (which seems correct).
I guess now I’m wondering if having XGtE shared with me somehow triggered EE content for my players. (Still no idea where the UA spell would’ve come from, though)
Update: created test Druid in the other campaign, that one still saw spells like “Beast Bond” credited to EE but with a page number for XGtE, and also (as expected) saw Infestation credited to XGtE.
The UA spells is a glitch that DDB is working on fixing. The Elemental Evil Player’s Companion was published and released for free by Wizards of the Coast so everybody gets access to them for free on DDB. I hope this was helpful.

Thank you. I supposed what I find odd then is:
The EE spells have been free content since WotC “published” it. I put that in quotes since there is no actual book, it was solely released online.
