I'm having trouble finding my home brew spells that I've added, both in my spell list and also as an option to add to a character in the creator. What am I doing wrong?
Regardless of homebrew content switch on or off, the spell I created does not appear in my spell-list or in character creation. In the spell description, the only option at the bottom is to remove it from my collection, so I assume that means it should already be in my collection. The spell has passed moderation and is published homebrew content, so I'm not sure why it doesn't show up for me.
Above is the character. As far as I can tell, I can't access "Mortal Paths" under the known spells section.
On another note, maybe I misunderstand the "add to your collection" feature for spells. If I create a spell or add someone else's published spell will it show under my normal spells list or is the only access through the homebrew spells tab? If the later, why does it matter if I "add" the spell to my collection?
Sorry for all the questions - just trying to get a feel for things...Thanks,
OK, try these steps. I can't really verify because I can't add your spell to my collection right now.
1) The Homebrew toggle in the first page of the editor must stay "blue".
2) Make sure that your spell is in your collection. I know that when you homebrew something automatically should appear in your collection, but it is better to verify.
If you do those steps it should appear in the builder. It is necessary that the homebrew is in your collection.
It seems that there is an issue with the homebrew system forgetting that the author of a piece of homebrew should be allowed to use it.
So, let me explain.
1. Anyone can create their own private homebrew and use it.
2. Anyone with a HERO or MASTER subscription can add public homebrew and use that.
This problem occurs when someone with no subscription creates some homebrew, then publishes it and it is accepted into public homebrew.
The homebrew is now public homebrew and the person that created it, may not use it, unless they have a HERO or MASTER subscription, because those are the rules.
It is clear to me that this is an oversight and saying that someone cannot use homebrew they created is not the intent here.
I'll make sure that staff are aware of this.
As a workaround for now, I recommend creating a new version and keeping it as private homebrew.
Thank you for looking into this. I originally assumed that a subscription was required for any access (even self-created) to homebrew in the builder. As such, I purchased a year subscription when I first ran into this glitch. When that still didn't work, I pursued it further on the forums.
Considering that I have an active "Hero" level subscription, shouldn't this have resolved itself already? I will take your advice and create another version of the spell and keep it private, but it seems possible that the problem is different than subscriber vs non-subscriber.
Either that, or my subscription isn't working properly. I can see from my title on the forums still shows up as "adventurer" instead of "hero." Maybe that doesn't mean anything, but I'm trying to troubleshoot anything that I could be doing wrong on my end. Thanks again.
I don't have visibility of the back-end database to troubleshoot the way that the developers can, but I suspect that there is currently some problem with using homebrew that you have shared publically.
Thank you for letting me know that you have a subscription, as it helps rule that out, but there's clearly still a problem.
It's been reported to staff, so hopefully, they'll be able to figure out a resolution quickly!
Has this issue been fixed? I don't think it has, i don't have access to a pixie race that I'm trying to add. I have the Hero subscription
Check the first page of your character editor, there is a toggle for allowing homebrew. Also, check that you have said race in your Homebrew Collection.

In the character builder, first page of the editor, there is a toggle which allows/disallows homebrew content.

I tried the switch both ways to no avail.
Here is the link to your homebrew spell, you should be able to see it.

Also, if you post the link to your character, maybe I can give a look.

Let me know.
The homebrew toggle is blue.
The spell is in my "homebrew collection".
It doesn't appear in the builder. The only place I can access the spell is going to my "homebrew collection" or browsing homebrew content.
Sorry, I really can't figure out why it does not show up in your builder. I tag this thread as bug, hope tomorrow the staff will give a look at this.
Thanks for looking at it. I'm hoping this can be resolved.
Was there a resolve to this? I am trying to add HomeBrew spells to my character as well and I does not show up either.

If you have a subscription and still cant see the homebrew on your character, make sure that use homebrew is enabled when you edit the character.
