Ability Score Improvements selected for a character in the builder do not get copied when copying a character. I searched for this in the forums and didn’t find any reports, sorry if it’s a duplicate.
I make a lot of copies, and I know this used to work.
the options, or at least if you chose feats, seem to be carrying over onto the character but are not shown on the builder. Instead it makes them inherent and allows you to take extra feats on top of them. which is kind of worse.
They had a problem recently where the custom backgrounds of copied characters wouldn't copy over - so this is probably related. They did fix that though.
I just copied a character and experienced this problem. It had both an ASI and a Feat. It seems the character sheet remembers that they have that ASI and the feat - but the builder doesn't (or rather - it doesn't display it). If you change or edit the ASI or Feat to something else the character does lose the old copied versions. I changed the level 8 ASI to the Charger feat (it was Alert on the original character) and the character did lose the Alert feat and gained Charger on the character sheet. It did the same with the ASI. The moment I chose ASI for level 4 - the character instantly forgot the old copied ASI stats and allowed me to add to Wisdom again (because with the ASI it was capped - without it wasn't).
It must be a display issue in the builder only because it's still replacing the features correctly.
Like I said in my reply - it doesn't actually break the character functionality - everything is copying correctly. It's just a display issue in the builder.
I will add to this that while the ASI's are actually copied over - they're just displayed in the builder as if they haven't - this is not the case for Artificer Infusions. The Infusions absolutely do not copy over. This leads to some weirdness where a Repeating Shot infused Longbow is still attuned - but not infused and so isn't attunable.
Please know that the team has received your information regarding this issue and are aware this requires attention. This has been entered into our backlog and will be worked on at our earliest availability, in accordance with the suggestion’s priority. Thank you!

Any chance this will be fixed? It kinda breaks copy character sheet functionality... the new copy isn’t really a copy.

I noticed recently that when you copy a character (in my case a lvl 13 druid) the ability score improvements are not copied anymore.
this used to work in the past (for my own historic reasons I have a copy of my character at each level and that is why I noticed)

I've logged this as a bug that is still occurring. Thanks!
