Hi, I have a character that I created and initially set the HP using the Hp Override box. I wanted to change to fixed, but the override hp value always sets to 1. Is there another way to change this?
I have this problem, and deleting the number doesn't work. I delete the "1" in the box, it puts "--" there instead. I press Apply, but then it stays at 1. If I go back to the Manage HP window, 1 is again in the override box.
A post from 2017 and this is still happening? Wow. Yeah, may players are having this issue. We cannot remove 1 from override. The players originally didn't understand that DnDBeyond was automatically adding the constitution modifier so they were adding their total HP instead of just the rolls for the health so they overrode the number. If you try to remove that number it defaults to 1.
Hey, just wanted to respond to this bug, as it is the first thing that came up when I searched for this bug happening.
There are two locations you can override the HP, the first is in the character creator, under the class tab, and the other is on your character sheet, after clicking anywhere in the HP box, a tab pops up and the override is the bottom right box.
Check both locations to see if you can delete the 1 from either. I found that if one is overwritten, the other location will keep defaulting to that override. They don't share the same variable, but those variables are always equal to each other.
Thank you, yes, I meant to reply to this as well. The bug exists still within the character creator but it can be cleared when modifying directly in the character sheet.

Thanks. You should be upvoted for this.
IMO the character sheet has lots of bugs wrt to HP management. Someone should write a specification for this based on actual rules and expectations, then maybe product management could get all the bugs fixed. Dont blame the devs, but they should know better. Maybe would be easier if KISS and allow the players override everything, instead of enforcing the faulty automation.

Delete any number in the Override box.
Thanks. I thought that maybe setting to Zero would do the same.

Same problem here. I tried deleting the number, entering a "-" manually, switching the mode between Fixed and Manual repeatedly.
