This forum doesn't do image hosting as it already has to host large volumes of data. You can upload your image to an image hosting service, such as imgur.com or google drive and then add the image into the relevant text box just like you would on a forum.
Basically the text boxes work like forum posts. Anything you can do on a forum post you can do in those boxes. This includes HTML if you click the </> button to make stuff extra fancy if needed.
As for "best way" -- there isn't one. It depends on what your requirements are. But at the simplest level: description is a general description or intro to the campaign, public notes are things you want the players to see and private notes are things only for your eyes.
It is common to use description to provide the story overview, world details, base rules, houserules, etc. The public notes is commonly used to keep a public record of how the campaign is progressing and the main details of stuff the party has encountered, doesn't have to be detailed but a nice basic summary being added after each session is helpful. The private notes are often used for the DM notes about the secrets and goings on in your world the players would not know about yet. Again, these are "common" ways to use these, but everyone is different and it will depend on what you need.

Just some feedback the text boxes don't have the ability to upload images. Also Would love some feedback on the best way to use this tool.
