I know I'm a bit late to the party (Party.. get it? :D) but:
Am I missing something, or are some items simply not in the system? I know, things like "A trophy taken from a fallen enemy" from the Soldier background might not seem important, but it bugs me that it (and others like it) is missing. Now, the bag of sand from the Sage background? That's basic enough to be there, you'd think?
So, is that stuff there and I'm just not finding it, or is it actually not there?

Things like trinkets, trophies, and other items without game mechanics need to be manually added. Equipment > More > Possessions

Consider this a complaint about ALL the listings - I realize you guys have to make some money back off of this thing, I do, but 'filter by source' needs to be front and center; I should be able to go "I want stuff from the Basic Rules and the PHB" right away, not the very last option buried under a readmore.
Right now when I load in a "Scroll (Level One)" into my player's sheets, it just shows as a generic Scroll. Anyway to "link" it to a spell itself, so players can see what the scroll actually does?

Not currently.

Create a Homebrew item with a spell scroll as the template; you can add a spell to any homebrew item.
In the character creator and character sheets, under the "add items" tab, there is a legendary item called "test". I'm sure this was meant to be removed and would just like to draw the relevant attention to it.
Apologies if this was posted already but I searched this thread and the forums as a whole and couldn't find anything about it.

I just added it to my test character, named Test.

Now you can start your adventure called Test in which Test has to use the legendary test to pass an arduous and plane-spanning test only to find that it's tests all the way down.

Only if the spell is SRD.. No spells from purchased content or homebrew can be added to an item at this time. Fingers crossed for the future though! I'm not certain whether the team is going to make a change when they have time, or if they have decided to leave things as they are.

I had not noticed that. Apparently, I'd only tried adding SRD spells to items before now. I'm sure it's on the roadmap somewhere; it just might be in the distant future before it's addressed.
I have not been able to find a listing for gems anywhere in the item list. I have put them in my custom item area but it would be good to have them as items (as they are sometimes used for spell consumables). Even better, if they were listed under currency as bulk money items.
It makes sense to have a base item but some items are too common to want to do anything more than just change a name. In the listing I have 3 books but they are listed as Book, Book, Book. We should be able to change the name of the item from Book to whatever we need to call it (and keep Book as it's type) and have a note section that allows you to expand on what exactly the item is.
Potion of Healing can be found in all versions (Greater, Superior, etc.) through the global search, but not if I search them in the Magic Item Lising.
And in the equipment block of the character, if I search for Potion of Healing and activate the Potion filter, the standard Potion of Healing is not listed in the results.

Thanks for reporting this. It's noted as a bug here:
May be this was mentioned before, but it would be nice to have some kind of "Give to player" button. Either in the item listing or somewhere in the campaign management, where i can search for an item and give the item to a player.
He should receive some kind of message and should see the item in the equipment of his character.

I cant seem to find any weapons in the "add Gear" section. Are weapons going to be added?
