I don't really like having languages being tied to a character's race/species and prefer basing it on geographical origin, as such for the campaign setting I was working on I replaced all of the common languages with regional versions. Is there a way to add these languages to the list of languages a character can pick from? (sorta like the critical role languages)
I know you can manually add languages on the sheet but I was wondering if there was a way for a dm to make an approved list actually on dnd beyond that was integrated into the character creator?
also sorry if this is in the wrong section, I just didn't know where else to put it on the forums XD
is there a way to manually REMOVE languages from a sheet?
I don't use Common in my games, and I'd like to remove it from the sheet
I'm in the same situation and no there doesn't seem to be a way. Homebrew content is 'barely' supported in some cases. (All we need is the Sheet to unlock and let us edit everything). Would solve a lot of problems.
If you have Tasha's you can enable custom origin for races so you can override languages and then dont select the languages.
If you dont have tashas and for other sources - make homebrew copy and edit the language option to "choose a language" version and then save and use the homebrew. Don't choose a language.
This lets you just add only custom languages on the sheet directly instead. This gives full control over the languages your character knows.
