The only place I've been able to access digital dice as a DM is in an encounter. But sometimes DMs roll dice outside of combat encounters in social/exploration settings. It's a pain to navigate to a custom encounter every time I want an NPC to roll an insight check or to roll damage for a trap. I should be able to access the dice roller in a place that lets me see the game log.
I love dndbeyond. I've been here for a long time now, but I really can't see why there isn't a DM dice roller. I think this is the most basic tool a DM need. I hope they listen to us and fix this. I'll stay here, I do love the platform, but this is a must to improve my enjoyment of the site.
But the whole point of paying a Master Subscription in this service is not to do that. I can throw my own real life dice of course, I can do everything without dndbeyond, but that's not the point, is it?
Love this and came here to say it. I would like a Dice array across the top above the players, With the +/- Modifier option (like the heal/damage option), and an advantage/disadvantage toggle.
And an idea I just had was if there could be a greyed out/see through DM screen image kind of fogging over the dice array, so you can still see the dice, but it is indicated the dice are hidden. In this setting, you can select to roll a die and it rolls for the DM only.
But if you click to remove the DM screen, it kind of goes behind the dice array and they are clear/non-obscured dice. So when they are rolled then, it goes into the game log.
I also would like the option of some dialogue in the game log. or even a way to prompt players or the whole group to make a roll. Like I click "persuasion request" and select the 2 players names that said they are trying to haggle at market, as opposed to selecting just one player or the whole party.
Maybe even have a group check prompt. so anyone who wants to roll can and it averages it out.

Oh, I couldn’t agree more.

The only thing that wouldn't solve is it would be out of the game log, and more tabs to keep open.
