The Senses are weird, I don't know of anyone who asks "What's you passive wisdom perception?" but rather "What's your passive perception?"
It's a really weird thing to waste screen real estate on at all. DMs who use passive perception usually ask you once and then track it on their own (I don't expect a DM running a campaign to flip through 5 different player sheets on DnDBeyond to check each player's passive perception every time they might see something). And since the formula to calculate it is literally "10+ perception ability" (barring one specific feat that can add a +5), it seems odd to dedicate space to this and 2 other passive skills that are also easily calculated at a glance and never needed by players directly.
I think this is a significant step backwards. I bought PHB and XToE solely so I could use it on this platform because I loved the design before. Now? Why bother. I’ll just fill out a paper sheet since that would be easier to use during the game then this with my iPad.
This violently atrocious, and murders all of the simple convenience that led me to spend hundreds of dollars on this site in the first place.
Everything is much harder to read. The fact that ability scores are up top where much more relevant stats used to be, and then there's a separate box for ability saving throws is just horrifying. The fact that your AC is now harder to find because ability scores have inexplicably been moved to the top of the page is really annoying. The new spell list layout is mortifying, and probably the worst offense of the whole affair: harder to read, harder to use. All of the red lines are fatiguing to the eyes. The fact that all editable text has to be edited in a pop-up side bar instead of in the field itself is just... mystifying.
The mobile version is brutal.
There are some good parts. I like the new senses box. I see the new actions tab being useful for all those, "What should I do with my bonus action?" moments. I like the greater emphasis on customizing individual parts of your character.
I can tell somebody worked really hard on this. It gets an A for effort, but for now, I'm just pissed off I can't go back to the clean convenience of the old layout.

Very very much this. I can actually see passive Perception (get it?), but I don't think I've ever heard of anyone ever wanting passive Insight or Investigation...
Maybe turn it into a place to track Exhaustion or something like that?
Cleric of Life and Evocation Wizard bonuses to Healing/Damage are not reflected in spells still.
Adding spells and items is far less intuitive than it was before - The little gear icon is not obvious.
Need the ability to sort spells in Spellbook, Spells frame, and Add/Prepare spells by school.
Many, many instances of errors popping up: - If you try to add spells to quickly you get an error saying the spell is already known. - If you skip any page in the Character Builder, the builder just finishes with an error page. - If you have an Override of 0 and a Misc or Magic Bonus set for a Custom skill, you get an error about proficiency (happens regardless of proficiency setting)
Side frame/Overlay extends above the rest of the character sheet. Not an issue, just looks odd.
If you click on a stat at the top, the skills listed under the checks section are either not working as intended or should probably be looked at again: An Intelligence check comes into play when you need to draw on logic, education, memory, or deductive reasoning. The Arcana, History, Investigation, Nature, and Religion (They show up in the Overlay as [ skill ]Arcana[ /skill ] without the extra spaces)
Overall, this feels like a side-grade at best. There were issues before, there are issues now. Some of them are the same, some are different.
I was a huge fan of the old mobile layout. Is there a way to get it back? I loved being able two swipe continuously to get to stuff. Now it's tapping a button then selecting from a menu. Seems like a big step backwards.
Also, the attribute scores take up most of the window on Mobile. Can't they be condensed and made vertical like a real character sheet? Seems like a big empty window with almost no info...
Agreed... I'd almost prefer it was just one really long page that I could vertically scroll through... having to open a menu and then figure out which of the 9 sections I want to view seems really clunky.
The old format was *amazing* for mobile view. I really liked how concise the abilities/saving throws and abilities were in the old system.
I'm guessing the reason is going to include such buzzwords as "above the fold", but for what it's worth, as a web developer I agree with you.
If they were advertising that might matter, but specifics like that are the definition of below the fold content. In addition, they are already hidden within a scroll, so scrolling more doesnt hurt it. at least the way Im suggesting I can opt to use my entire screen to read everything at once rather than an itty bitty window.
If they'd take an HTML/css review I'd be tempted to put the hours in to simplify it and allow configuration.
the old layout was so clean, usable on any device. the new version defaults to a trash fire red layout. things i dont need are right in front of me. things i want, hidden behind layers of pop out panes.
wasted space on maximizing the screen. what a joke. call up the desktop version on my ipad? doesn't work.
once per day items? not under the once per day section anymore.
any UI/UX people you had that worked on this (i doubt there were many) should be fired immediately. does anyone really think brick red borders as default look great? are they color blind?
i am ~$400 into this web site with all the books, all the subscriptions, and the usability just took a steep nose dive. (legendary bundle, MToF, Master Sub) please fix it.
My one single hope in the face of the majority of the feedback given here so far is that the DDB team ignore it all. People love to react emotionally without putting any real depth of thought into their own opinions. Give it a month or two and I bet 90% of the people complaining will have actually used the sheet and either gotten used to it or even started liking it.
The remaining 10% are the ones who just like to complain, irrespective of evidence, logic or reason.

After I try to prepare spells I can only see the first few before I need to scroll down, but when I try it scrolls the main window, not the side panel.
Within the Combat page, if you click on the conditions, and enable a condition, clicking on the condition should bring up the details one what that condition does. Additionally, there is no way to set the level of Exhaustion you have.
Just echoing here (as someone who subscribed for 6 months to the Master tier just yesterday!) that as far as mobile you have ruined a beautiful thing and it hurts me deeply. I have an Android phone and a hybrid laptop (used in tablet form) that I frequently use for DnD, and the way it was a different but perfect experience for both astounded me as someone who works in technology and knows a good bit about UX. It was why I was willing to put money in your product.
Now all that is gone. I feel like I need to plug in my keyboard to use it on what I usually used as a tablet. And the phone, which had all the important information first and perfectly logical swipeable screens - now is a clicking mess and weird saving of pages.
The one request that I have: after looking through all of the theme/backdrop choices, it would be nice to be able to switch through those panes without having to go back to the dropdown menu on the PC name. Just have arrows to go between Frame <> Backdrop <> Theme <> Portrait.
Regardless, you guys have done a fantastic job with the character sheet! Thanks!
I would really love to be able to put in custom languages for homebrew races or classes and have them show under the languages section on a character sheet.

I have given all my feedback as an avid user. DnD Beyond is the ONLY character sheet I have brought to any games I have played this year. I am heavily invested in this application being a success. I use my phone and my iPad exclusively to play, I use my desktop to manage my characters. I am absolutely serious in my feedback and not just hating on the change. There is a reason companies like Apple and Microsoft have taken a u-turn from skeuomorphic design for UIs. its broken. it does not work. and this "improved" interface is a massive downgrade in usability. I am not a hater. I actually care about this app, the site, and it's future. I realize that the money I have put in here isn't going to WoTC, my books are only licensed here. I am all in here. I don't have physical copies of anything. when I say its broken, it is broken for me.
Thank you guys SO much for this revamp! Just a couple of hours after it went live, my weekly home game used the new sheets for our session and we all LOVE it. That was a lot of mixed singular/plural pronouns. Whatever anyway.
We do have a few questions/suggestions/concerns.
1) The mobile version of the sheet had a few issues of convenience. The biggest one is that HP and AC are not accessible from the same “page.” We felt that those two stats (or at least HP) should be available on ALL of the various page views as it’s such a ubiquitous stat in combat. Fail a save? Reduce your hp. Get hit by an attack vs. AC? Reduce your hp. Use a potion of healing? Recover your hp.
2) I assume these are things that probably require additional time and development, but there were class-specific things we ran across that would be nice to track on our character sheets. A button to indicate we have bardic inspiration. A condition that adjusts stats when we’re raging or have a buff spell cast on us. The bonuses Life clerics get from their Disciple of Life feature to their heals.
3) We’re not sure if this is a feature or a bug, but when you rotate a mobile device between portrait and landscape, the character sheet will revert to the main page regardless of which portion of the sheet you had navigated to. (If you’re on the “combat” page in landscape and rotate to portrait, it will go back to the ability scores/skills page.) While this could be a quick way to get back to that portion of the sheet, we imagine it will probably cause more frustration than it’s worth.
4) Our warlock/sorcerer’s Font of Magic feature description seems to have some bad code in it. The beginning of the description says “You have ____ sorcery points...” I assume that the blank is meant to be filled with snippet code to put the character’s sorcerer level in there. His sheet, however, has a red-highlighted chunk of text that says “limiteduse - No limited use data available.”
Those were the big things that we ran across this evening. Again, thank you all so much for all your amazing work on this product. Can’t wait for the Twitch integration... ;)

This character sheet revamp was, in no way that was reasonable, rational or sane, worth waiting all this time for.It was worth waiting far longer for it... love your work.

Need this indeed...
this redesign is a skeuomorphic garbage fire.

Has some but not all. Eg. The Gunslingers Grit Points aren’t there but the Shots are
