Can we bring back having the magic items coloured to show rarity, so much harder for my players who may be newer to know if the magic item they're choosing is off appropriate "rarity/level"
I think you need to check your settings or something mate because they're colour coded on here.
Standard Black: Common. Green: Uncommon Blue: Rare Purple: Very Rare Orange: Legendary Whatever this colour is: Artifact

Which settings? I, too, no longer see colour-coded items (though I've never adjusted any settings), and if there's a setting for it I have no clue where to find it.

Something on your browser, maybe, or device? I dunno. But the colours are there for me on site (browsers: Firefox, Edge, Chrome and Opera GX) and in the app (Android smartphone).
This is a YOU thing not a D&D Beyond thing.

I created a magic item that should've been blue (rare), but instead came out white. What did I do wrong?
D&D Beyond doesn't even make items white as a colour - the code for it literally doesn't exist - so this is your browser and nothing anyone else can help with. Maybe check for any extensions that might alter css for a site?

Does not change the fact this is not a D&D Beyond thing.
There is no code that changes your, one, item to a different colour scheme than anything else.
Check your browser/extension.

Perhaps I should clarify- when I say it came out white, I was using the underdark mode. So in fact, I should say that it came out black. Does that change anything?

Maybe. In Underdark mode Common (and "Varies") items will be White instead of Black (the only difference) but Rare items are still blue.
Have you accidentally set it to Common (or "Varies") instead of rare?

But magical items colored by rarity is still a thing.

Yes they are color coded on both on the character sheet, and on the rest of the site too.

Definitely a Me&D Beyond thing. Must've been a bug. Once again I did nothing, but all is as it should be once again.
