I remember hearing, not so long ago, that the D&DB community could expect to see new community polls sent/published, to be aimed at gathering feedback on most-desired features, general sentiments regarding the product, etc., as a way to augment the feedback provided through the forums. Did I...miss those? Were they abandoned? Am I carazy?
While the mods work hard to keep these forums tidy, it seems as though we're awash in redundant posts that all essentially promote the same requested features that folks have been pining after for a long time and/or ask for status updates on those same wishlist items (oh Campaign Management, you vague and nebulous beast...wherefore art thou, Campaign Management?). The dev streams are always nice for getting the latest insight into the backlog, but the most recent session was riding close enough to the heels of the character sheet revamp to focus mostly on the unwinding and fine-tuning of that release.
Ah, the wonderful and famed character sheet revamp...I love the new sheet. Responsive design and great UI/UX? Sweeeet. And now...it's here. It's here! It's awesome and fun to play with. And it's here. What will our dear friends at Curse come up with next? No, really...I'm asking. What will our dear friends at Curse come up with next?
For we DMs who have ached for meaningful campaign dashboards, encounter builders, initiative trackers, a VTT (yeah, I know that one will never happen), a fleshed out API, etc., etc., etc., for so long, it would be ever so fantastic to hear even a whispered rumor of any single one of those features being pulled into a sprint within the near future.
We love ya, Curse. We can't get enough of the cool stuff you're putting out. Pretty please with sugar on top: can we get a teeny tiny peek at the next...oh, say, 10 feet of the roadmap?

I was actually thinking about this myself today. I went back to last month's &Beyond stream, and jotted down what they said was upcoming. (italics mine)
In Progress Homebrew Sharing Revampin the wild Rituals/Book of Ancient Secretsin the wild Melee Attack Cantrips in the wild Exhaustionin the wild Mobile app phase 2 includes character sheet??? Twitch Stream integration
Upcoming Source Management (blacklisting by source, element) Mobile Swiping Public API Character sheet creatures (Wild Shape, familiars, mounts, figurines of wonderous power wer specifically mentioned)
Discussed elsewhere but not timelined, cant find sources Encounter Creator Player Progression Journal Dice Roller Rollable Tables think XGtE
Now, obviously, none of this is set in stone. If they came out tomorrow and said 'the mobile app is good as is, and we're stopping development on it', okay then. If they never create an encounter creator, I can live with that.
That said, if you know of anything else the team has said they're interested in adding, call it out.
Ya know, if that API ever hits the scene, it might be a game changer (depending on what it's equipped to do). It wouldn't be a panacea, but mightn't we see sister applications that tout themselves as being "D&DB Integrated" spring up thereafter? I'd wager we have a healthy subset of the D&DB community who could code up some pretty sweet tools to be run in tandem (may the gods bless their techy hearts!). We've got the browser extensions floating around out there now that kinda-sorta augment the functionality, but a full-blown API might really ramp up these capabilities.
I'm gonna put a bottle of champagne on my grocery list. I'm going to buy it and bring it home and put it in my refrigerator, near the very back (right next to that rando strawberry yogurt that's probably fermented enough to kill a man). Then, someday, when a campaign dashboard gets pushed to production, with aggregated character stats for the party I'm DMing for, I'll pull that bottle out, pop the cork, and white-man dance whilst drinking directly from it.

I believe the mobile app phase two is the fully searchable compendium. We are going to have to wait quite some time before we get the character sheet (Adam mentioned it could mean a VERY large app to squeeze all that in)
Given that DDB is owned by Twitch, it's probably simultaneously an easier and more complex process than we imagine.
I say this because Twitch already has an API for extensions:
Extensions are interactive web apps that run on a broadcaster’s channel, either overlaying the video or below it in panels. Extension developers can build experiences ranging from broadcaster/community tools, to data driven overlays, to interactive apps that let the audience play in the game. These experiences bring viewers and broadcasters together, creating new ways to interact on Twitch.
Extensions installed and activated by a broadcaster are automatically visible to any viewer who goes to the broadcaster’s channel page using a desktop Web browser or mobile device. Viewers can see details about the extension and report an extension for bad behavior.
...which sounds pretty much like what they want to do for the stream integrations.
Twitch also has their own API. I suspect the plan is for DDB to hook into Twitch's existing codebase...but that means having their merge suggestions approved AND they have to adhere to Twitch's existing API standards. So, the groundwork is there, but it's going to take time to get mama-Twitch to approve their code.
I would be very surprised if the D&DB code lived in the same repository as the Twitch code. I don't see very much overlap in their API needs at all, except for authentication (I could see them tying into the API keys from Twitch).
There is now a weekly interview & feature stream as well, for weeks that the dev stream isn't on.
In the same vein, regarding those dev streams (not the weekly &Beyond, interviews and such): we used to see threads pop up in the forums to announce the current upcoming date and allow the early submission of questions. Are those still a thing? If I'm the lazy schmuck who hasn't been observant enough to see them lately then...forgive me. As an aside, the interview streams have been fun to watch.

I miss the old once a month dev update too which had relevant, interesting information and which wasn't full of crap like baking cookies.

Virtual Table Top, please and thank you.
The dev update is still a monthly stream.
There is now a weekly interview & feature stream as well, for weeks that the dev stream isn't on.

When is the date for the next Dev Update? We are getting very close to the end of the month.

There needs to be a calendar page with scheduled events listed so that I can download it to my calendar app.
