Stuff like Kobold's Tome of Beasts, and spell compendiums, Frog God Games everything haha.
Even a cool tie in with DMs Guild could be cool. Whilst free homebrew is definitely awesome, there is some really incredible third party content out there! Would be awesome to get those companies involved :)
For what it's worth, after asking both Kobold Press and Frog God Games (Tome of Beasts and Fifth Edition Foes fame respectively, both EXCELLENT, actually frog god games, spell book is awesome too) have both expressed a keen interest in adding their content to D&D Beyond. I'm assuming it wouldn't be too hard to add it just like the official WOTC stuff (purchasable)!
There are ongoing discussions with 3rd party content providers.
These things take time to resolve though, as the license that those 3rd party products are currently released under, legally prevents their official use on D&D Beyond.
As I understand it, this means legal people need to be involved and a contract drawn up, to allow this.
Curse are doing a LOT of work behind the scenes to integrate the community at large, wherever possible.
Good to hear! Gives a bit of context and sounds like that it's a bit of a three way conversation between WOTC, Curse and third party providers to resolve any licensing issues that may occur.
I understand that there is obviously a whole bunch of work once it's all organised to do unless those companies are willing to input the data themselves, or have a format that makes copy and pasting easier than print ready files.
Fingers crossed they sort it all out soon! I'm already a huge fan of Curse and everything they're doing (because it shows how responsive they are).
I'd like to see them add a serviceable map-making app that we can use to generate content for our DM's Guild materials. Affordable software tools with commercial use licenses aren't easy to find in my admittedly limited amount of searching. I mean, WotC would be able to double-dip on making money here. Subscription fees for DDB to use the tool and then they also take a cut on all stuff sold via DM's Guild. This seems like a no-brainer to me.

That is good to hear! I'm really curious about those licensing negotiations, though I'm sure we won't get any details until they reach an agreement. There's a lot of moving parts and questions that would need to be answered, and since we can't see all the relevant contracts amongst everyone involved, all we can do is speculate wildly. And since we're speculating wildly, I assume that we can expect to see all the Kobold Press products available for purchase in DDB just as soon as Adam beats Wolfgang Baur in single combat.
I think this is something that definately needs to be done IF they really want to change the way we see the game: we are supposed to "translate" the gaming table, with all the manuals and dice into this environment. Well then, they already know that 3rd party publishers are really popular, specially Frog Gods and Kobold Press!
Let's hope Gen Con allows for some intimate interaction among parties...

Hi Stormknight,
This is exciting to hear. Has there been any progress on this? I'd love to get Tome of Beasts through DnD Beyond. As we are a distributed group, I've kept it simple for my group. If it's not in DnDBeyond we won't use it (it's our first go at 5e anyways so there is lots to explore). Exception is stuff we homebrew on our own.

The moderators and staff discussed this fairly recently - the main issue is that it involves drawing up a legal contract that involves Curse, Wizards of the Coast and the 3rd party. Unfortunately these things take time and there may be numerous disagreements or changes requested.

Totally makes sense. Glad to hear people haven't given up on this. Thanks for the prompt reply Stormknight.

I would hope with the blacklisting/whitelisting content on the roadmap now. This maybe helps open the door for 3rd party content while respecting official content?

Let's hope this is true. I would gladly purchase select Kobold Press or Frog God Games titles again in order to be able to use them here in D&D Beyond. That, I think, would make this tool near complete.

Yes! Please include Fifth Edition Foes and Tome of Beasts.

So your entire buisness model is to try and get me to buy something a second time. k glad to know this is an utterly useless site then.

Is there any know progress on getting the ToB into D&D Beyond. It has got to be the 3rd party book that is considered closest to being a core book.
I would hope with the blacklisting/whitelisting content on the roadmap now. This maybe helps open the door for 3rd party content while respecting official content?
